Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated annually on October 2nd to honor the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of the Indian independence movement and a global icon for peace and nonviolence.
It is a national holiday in India, marked by prayer services, tributes at Gandhi's memorial (Raj Ghat in New Delhi), and various cultural events. Gandhi's philosophy of truth and nonviolence (Satyagraha and Ahimsa) continues to inspire movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
