Start your day in an Indian way
Jia: Yr, bdi bhook lgi hai, Breakfast mein kya hai?
Tia: Poha bna hai, la du
Jia: Eww, Poha nhi yr. I am on Diet. Corn flakes hai kya??
! Iβm on a diet. So, let me choose corn flakes for breakfast today as they are healthy. Right?
But here's the shocking reality π³
Hot Poha made with love are way better than Kellogg's cornflakes made in factories by machines. YES! π Breakfast cereals are one of the latest fads π€ . Fancy packaging and non-stop television ads by our favorite actors promoting them allure us to buy and consume these products. We compared a 30 gm serving of Cornflakes in 200 ml cowβs milk with 1 bowl of Poha. To start with, Cornflakes not only have more CALORIES but also 5 times more SUGAR π§ and twice times more fat than Poha.
Sometimes people even eat more corn flakes than 30g and this high fat can block your arteries compromising your cardiovascular health? π΅ Our Poha only have 180 kcal of energy, 6 g fat, and only 25gm Carbs. This modern lifestyle is an excuse used by all and people are going crazy over these breakfast cereals because they are trending and require minimal cooking.
But why do we forget that these remain fresh and require minimal processing all thanks to ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES ( the bad guy of the nutrition world) π― Poha is our very favorite and desi breakfast that keeps us full, has no preservatives, and has your mother's love in every bite.
WHAT TO DO π€ β Fads come and go, but traditional wisdom remains intact because it has been tried and tested over centuries. π Everything you see on TV / Internet might not be as it seems. . Read the food labels carefully. JAAGO GRAHAK JAAGO. Some of our Indian homemade foods are amongst the healthiest in the world. So, enjoy a lip-smacking aloo ka paratha with green chilies and fresh spices and maintain a healthy routine because itβs all about lifestyle. π«
