This year's world sleep society has given a slogan -Make sleep health a priority. This year we invite communities to join the movement to understand the sleep health and it's
significant role in leading a balanced, healthy life.
Good sleep is essential for physical and mental well-being. It helps repair and regenerate the body, boosts immunity, enhances cognitive function, and supports emotional regulation.
However, acute and chronic sleep loss can have severe consequences. Short-term sleep
deprivation can affect mood, memory, and focus, leading to increased risk of accidents and poor decision-making.
Chronic sleep deprivation, on the other hand, is linked to a range of serious health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and even depression.
One common sleep disorder that many people face is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
OSA causesinterruptions in breathing during sleep, leading to poor sleep quality and potential health risks, including high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
To improve sleep quality, experts recommend maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, creating arelaxing bedtime routine, and optimizing your sleep environment (a cool, dark,
and quiet room). Additionally, it is important to avoid heavy meals, caffeine, a n d screen time before bedtime.
This World Sleep Day, take a step towards better sleep. Prioritize your rest, support others in their journey to healthier sleep habits, and spread awareness about sleep health in your community. Your body and mind will thank you!!!!!!
