Every parent wants the best for their baby 💛
Here are 5 gentle reminders I share as a pediatrician for babies under 1 year:
✨ Avoid honey
✨ Skip walkers, encourage floor play
✨ Stick to breastmilk/formula, no cow’s milk as main drink
✨ No added salt or sugar in food
✨ Keep screens away — play and talk instead

💡 Save these tips as a daily reminder, and share with another parent who’s navigating the first year of babyhood. You’re doing amazing 🤗💐

Sometimes parents worry when their child doesn’t speak in certain settings. But the reason matters 👇

🔹 Autism – Speech may be delayed, child may avoid eye contact, and show repetitive play/behaviors.
🔹 Selective Mutism – Child speaks normally at home 🏠 but becomes silent in school or social situations 🏫.

🌱 The difference is important, because the support and therapy needed are very different.

👩‍⚕️ As a developmental pediatrician, I always remind parents: Early recognition means early help and better outcomes.

“Spreading Awareness,One page at a Time”

In society, there is a significant lack of awareness and a lot of misconceptions about Autism, leading to challenges for both children and parents of autistic children. To address this, I created The Whispering Rainbow, a beautifully illustrated board book designed to raise awareness and promote compassion. The book is crafted to engage children in understanding the uniqueness of those with Autism, using simple, relatable language and vibrant visuals. By sharing this story, I hope to foster a sense of inclusion and kindness, encouraging a more accepting society. The Whispering Rainbow serves as a tool for parents and educators to open conversations and cultivate empathy in young minds.
