Every individual goes through significant amount of things in their life right from their childhood and the impact of these events, situations and people are often disregarded. We expect everyone to be their optimal self and behavior without considering what they are going through.
Parents may not comprehend their child's behavior and often mistake it as being lazy, or moody, or just feel they are being difficult. Teachers may not comprehend what the student is upto, why they did not submit their assignments or complete their project or show up for class, or fill in the blanks (each one of us know what we went through and what was never regarded). We never attempt to understand or support the child/student with what they are going through. We are not taught to openly communicate.
It becomes all the more relevant where students are left on their own at hostels or in cases where parents do not give quality time to check in with their kids or interpersonal relationships where there are misunderstandings and everything is haywire. This carries forward at workplaces as well. We never pay attention to what is leading to build up of stress and tension or what is affecting the behaviors and communication patterns to change.
Many times we say or may not say, do or don't do things which we often regret later. We adapt to habits and coping mechanisms to make do with what we are going through which often create trouble in the long run. Things just mould our behaviours, our interaction and communication patterns in life. From time to time, our body keeps showing symptoms of something not being right. If digestion is affected at one time, sleep pattern is affected at another time. Focus, work efficiency, decision making skills go for a toss and feelings of anxiety, fear, feeling low, irritability, anger, helplessness begin to root.
Unstuck - an initiative to support, resource every individual - students, professionals, home makers, parents, senior citizens to free them from whatever barrier they are feeling, that is not letting them be their natural self. Anxiety is not just felt mentally but physically as well. Heaviness is not just felt in the body but in the mind too. Neither at school nor at college nor at workplace we are taught how to handle it. Explore your stuck patterns and find healthy ways to handle them.
