🌟 The Power of Lifelong Learning in Medicine – My Takeaways from the Upper GI Diseases Workshop at KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur 🌟
As doctors, we all know that medical knowledge evolves at lightning speed. What we learned in medical school just a few years ago is already outdated in many areas. That’s why Continued Medical Education (CME) isn’t just a box to tick—it’s a responsibility we owe to our patients and ourselves.
On 7th September 2025, I had the privilege of attending the Live Workshop on Upper GI Diseases organized by KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur—a hands-on, in-depth experience focused on Laparoscopic & Robotic Operative Management of Upper GI Diseases.
Here are my personal takeaways:
✅ Seeing advanced techniques in real time
Watching live surgical demonstrations, including Esophagectomy and Gastrectomy for Carcinoma Stomach, was an eye-opener. The precision of robotic surgery and the skill in laparoscopic interventions clearly showed how technology is transforming patient care.
✅ Dealing with the unexpected
The session on Unusual Situations in Upper GI Surgery, presented through short videos by Dr. Naveen Kumar CH and Dr. Joel Kumar Earjala, reminded me that no two cases are ever the same—and adapting on the fly is key.
✅ Safety first, always
The talk on safe steps for Esophagectomy reinforced that no matter how advanced our tools get, patient safety protocols and careful planning remain the foundation of surgical success.
✅ The value of collaboration
Moderators and faculty from diverse specialties came together to create a rich, multidisciplinary learning environment. It was a great reminder that teamwork is critical in solving complex medical challenges.
✅ Networking with experts
Interacting with leading clinicians like Dr. D. V. Ramakrishna, Dr. Varun Busani, and others opened my eyes to new perspectives and future collaboration opportunities.
💡 In a world where medical advancements never stop, attending hands-on workshops like this one is one of the best investments in your career and your patients' well-being.
Huge thanks to KIMS Hospitals Kondapur for organizing such a comprehensive and valuable program! 🙌
Let’s keep learning, keep growing, and keep improving patient care together.
