😈Myth: You are safe if you don’t have family history
🌟Truth: Majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no close relatives with this disease. Regardless of family history, discuss mammography guidelines and schedule regular screenings with your health provider. The biggest risk factors for breast cancer are being a woman and growing older.
😈Myth: Annual mammograms are enough for detection
🌟Truth: While Mammography is the best technology to detect cancer early, however The American Cancer Society recommends women also receive a breast examination by a health professional as part of their scheduled physical exam. Self-awareness and prompt reporting of any changes is important and strongly encouraged.
😈Myth: Only middle and old age women are at risk
🌟TRUTH: It is true that being female and growing older are the main risk factors for developing breast cancer. Research says that in last few years, 1 in 25 invasive breast cancer cases occurred in women under 40. Women of all ages need to pay attention to their breasts, perform self-exams, and report any unusual changes to their doctors and insist that breast cancer be ruled out if there’s a concerning symptom. Women with a strong family history of breast cancer, especially cancers diagnosed in relatives before age 40, may wish to start screenings sooner.

😈Myth Only women get breast cancer
🌟TRUTH: Breast cancer occurs primarily in women, but occasionally in men. Mmen have breast tissue, and it's possible for them to develop breast cancer. Men should also check themselves periodically by doing a breast self-exam while in the shower and reporting any changes to their physicians.
