Starting with supine lying Shavasana, we bring our legs up and cross them over our head to touch the ground while pushing the floor with straight elbows and palms facing downwards.

RAJAKAPOT ASANA (king pigeon pose)

How to reach the asana:
• Starting from vajrasana, pull your one side of the hip along with the leg backwards
• So that the one knee is in the front of midline and the other knee is back of the midline ( midline of the body when it was in vajrasana)
• Once you achieve this pose slowly bring your both hands back from front crossing over shoulder joint with fingers pointing backwards and palm facing downwards and grab the bent knee and pull towards the head midline, all the while maintaining balance.

Asana Of The Week : DHANURASANA

Dhanurasana also known as the bow posture, helps build your focus, stability and is a great workout for those looking to achieve weight loss and build core strength.
Dhanurasana is a back bending posture which increases your spinal flexibility and strength. The secret to youthfulness is a flexible and strong spine. This asana is also effective for reducing belly fat. Adding this asana to your fitness routine will help you enjoy tremendous health benefits.

How to do the Dhanurasana or bow pose :

• Begin by lying down on your stomach
• Bend your knees and hold your ankles with your palms
• Have a strong grip
• Lift your legs and arms as high as you can
• Look up and hold the posture for a while.

Navigating back from the posture:

• Slowly place your shoulders and knees down
• Unlock your ankles and straighten your legs
• Turn your head to one side and rest your arms by the side of your body.

Breathing :

• Normal breathing while getting ready for the posture.
• As we enter the asana, Inhale deeply
• After entering the asana- take 3-5 long and deep breaths
• As we prepare to come out of the posture, exhale deeply and loosen up the muscles.
• After coming out, take normal breaths while resting till your body relaxes.
