When a young girl finds her voice, an entire community begins to change.
Metropolis Labs hosted the 2nd edition of the Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) Conclave in Mumbai, under its flagship CSR initiative Too Shy to Ask (TSTA).
The conclave brought together adolescent leaders, NGO partners, Panchayat representatives, and healthcare experts—not just to discuss adolescent health, but to listen, learn, and witness a quiet transformation taking shape.
What stood out was a powerful shift—from silence to dialogue, from hesitation to confidence. Adolescents, especially young girls, are no longer just participants; they are leaders—questioning norms, influencing behaviours, engaging with local governance, and advocating for their health and rights.
The event was graced by Ms. Ameera Shah, Promoter and Executive Chairperson, Metropolis Healthcare; Mr. S. Ranganathan, Independent Director and member of the CSR & ESG Committee; Dr. Kirti Chadha, Chief Scientific and Innovation Officer & Group Head – CSR; along with Dr. Sandeep Raut, Consultant (Management), RCH/NRHM, State Family Welfare Bureau, Pune; and representatives from the Department of Women & Child Development, Mumbai, including Ms. Shobha Shelar and Ms. Ankita Harshad Gothankar—key voices from the government ecosystem driving public health and child development initiatives.
One of the most moving moments of the conclave was the recognition of adolescent champions and grassroots leaders—young individuals who, despite challenges, are driving meaningful change. From preventing child marriages to advocating menstrual hygiene, from continuing education to seeking timely healthcare—these are stories of courage, resilience, and hope.
Through the ARSH program, Metropolis Healthcare has reached over 3.25 lakh adolescents across 1,000+ villages and 371 Panchayats, enabled 15,000+ Kishori Manch groups, and driven 13,500+ community action plans. More importantly, it has sparked a profound shift in awareness—from 25% to 89%—reflecting not just knowledge gained, but confidence built and lives transformed.
This is more than impact—it is a growing movement of young voices shaping a healthier, more equitable future.
Through strong partnerships and a deep belief in collective action, Metropolis Healthcare continues its commitment to empowering every adolescent with the knowledge, agency, and support they deserve.
A heartfelt thank you to our CSR team—Shalini Sahay, CSR Lead, along with Shivanand and Sagar—and our NGO partners for driving this journey forward.
