“I got my breasts done before Stormi… and I don't regret it.” – Kylie Jenner

As a surgeon, I often hear this story. Breast augmentation is safe and effective — but timing is everything. Here’s why 👇

Things to know before you decide:
- Implants come in different sizes (measured in CC) & profiles (low, moderate, high)
- Placement can be above or below the muscle
- Pregnancy & hormones can change the look and feel of your results

Key takeaway: Always think long-term. Your lifestyle, body changes, and future plans matter as much as the procedure itself.

Would you ever consider breast augmentation before pregnancy? Let me know your thoughts ⬇

“Doctor, I don’t want surveillance or constant check-ups… I just want peace of mind. Can surgery help me as a BRCA carrier?”

The answer is yes.
For BRCA1 & BRCA2 carriers, risk-reducing options like double mastectomy or oophorectomy can significantly lower cancer risk.

But remember — these are deeply personal choices that should always be discussed with your breast oncologist or genetic counselor, considering your age, family planning, and overall health.

✨ Prevention is always better than cure.

If you have BRCA1 or BRCA2 — read this 👇

Your cancer risk is much higher than average:
- BRCA1 → Breast: 55–72% | Ovarian: 40–44%
- BRCA2 → Breast: 45–69% | Ovarian: 11–17%

What to do NOW:
✔ Start breast self-exams ASAP
✔ Annual MRI from age 25
✔ MRI + Mammogram yearly from age 30
✔ Ask your doctor about ovarian checks (TVS + CA125)

Early detection saves lives — your genes are NOT your destiny.

BRCA Genes — What’s the big deal?
They’re your body’s DNA repair team… until a mutation flips the script.
When BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes change, the risk of certain cancers can skyrocket — often at a much younger age. 🚨

💡 BRCA1 carriers → higher risk of breast, ovarian, fallopian tube & peritoneal cancers.
💡 BRCA2 carriers → risk of male breast, prostate & pancreatic cancers.

🎯 Why this matters:
Knowing your BRCA status means you can take steps early — from advanced screenings to prevention strategies — and even guide treatment options.

- Talk to a genetic counsellor.
- Know your family history.
- Take charge of your health.

Your genes aren’t your destiny — knowledge is your power.

Can you explain cascade testing and its importance in Indian families?

In our latest podcast, Dr. Pragnya Chigurupati asks a question that could truly change the way Indian families approach health and prevention.

Dr. Hima Challa breaks down cascade testing — a powerful tool where, once a genetic mutation is found in one person, their close family members are tested too. Why? Because early knowledge = early action.

In Indian families, where health conversations are often hushed or delayed, cascade testing can help save multiple lives — not just one.
It’s not just about the individual. It’s about protecting generations.

Tap to listen and learn how one test can start a ripple of awareness, prevention, and empowerment in your family.

What are the common signs and symptoms of breast problems?
Dr. Pragnya shares what every woman should know — because early awareness leads to early action.

From unexpected lumps to skin changes in skin or ni**le discharge, your body often speaks before disease progresses. Don't wait for symptoms to get worse — regular breast screening can detect problems before they become serious.

Tune in. Stay informed. Book your screening.
Together, let’s normalize conversations about breast health.
