Cooking for your kids? Read this

Using aluminum foil with acidic foods like lemon or tomato during cooking can cause a reaction — allowing aluminum to leach into your food.

A small habit… but it can have long-term effects.

✅ Use foil only for dry foods
❌ Avoid combining it with acidic ingredients while cooking

Because healthy cooking isn’t just about what you cook… but how you cook.

Is a mammogram really painful?

Many women worry about discomfort, but here’s the truth

A mammogram is best done after your menstrual cycle (around day 5 onwards)—when breast tenderness is lower and hormonal changes reduce breast density.

Yes, there might be slight discomfort, but it usually lasts just a few seconds to a minute. It’s quick, safe, and extremely important for early detection.

Tip: If you have very tender breasts, you can take a mild pain reliever before the test.

Make it a habit—annual screening can save lives.

Nearly a year ago, I made one of the most important decisions of my life—to undergo a risk-reducing procedure.

From the very beginning, one thing made all the difference: choosing the right surgeon.

On the advice of my ex boss Mr. Narayanan, I consulted a surgeon Mr. Gerald Gui at the Royal Marsden whom I instinctively felt confident about—and that trust carried me through every step. From a reassuring first consultation, to a smooth initial procedure in 2025, to unexpected setbacks (including a last-minute cancellation due to MRSA in Feb 2026), and finally to completing the journey this March. 🤞

What stayed constant was his calm, practical approach and the sense of reassurance he provided—even to me, a breast surgeon myself.

This journey wasn’t just about surgery. It was about trust, patience, and support from family.

If there’s one takeaway I’d share:
✨ Choose your surgeon wisely
✨ Trust their process
✨ Stay calm through the ups and downs

It makes all the difference.

Is your microwave really causing cancer?

Not exactly. The real problem isn’t the microwave — it’s what you’re using inside it.

Most of us heat food in plastic containers without thinking twice. But when plastic is heated, harmful chemicals can leach into your food, leading to toxins, chronic inflammation, and long-term health risks.

Simple switch: Use glass or ceramic instead of plastic.

Small habit. Big impact.

Tag someone who still microwaves food in plastic

Cold Rice Secret
Did you know it’s actually better to eat previously cooked rice than fresh rice?

Yes, really. When cooked rice is cooled, it turns into resistant starch — a gut-friendly fiber that helps balance blood sugar, supports weight control & may reduce colon cancer risk.

Your leftovers just became a superfood

Tag someone who needs to stop wasting rice

A few nights ago, I had the honour of representing my father at the Hurun Awards, where he was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the economy of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. .india r.junaid

Organised by Hurun Research Institute, the Hurun Awards celebrate entrepreneurs, wealth creators, innovators, and leaders who shape industries and impact lives.

This was my second time representing Granules India Limited—but this one felt deeply personal. Receiving this award on behalf of my father meant more than I can put into words.

He has always believed in one simple philosophy: whatever you choose to do, give it your best shot. A thought beautifully captured in his book, There’s No Stopping—a reflection of his journey, values, and everything he has built over the years.

From building Granules India Limited and krsma estates, to achieving milestones like two Guinness World Records, his journey is nothing short of inspiring.

What made the evening even more enriching were the conversations and panels—insights into space work, AI tools, infrastructure, rare earths in AP and Telangana, and how all of this is shaping the future. It was fascinating to see how rapidly evolving innovation will influence healthcare and what it means for our generation and the ones to come.

proud to have received this on his behalf. 🤍

A meaningful start to Women’s Wellness Day at the launch of the Omega Cancer Foundation. I was invited to speak about Hereditary Breast Ovarian Cancer Syndrome—an area that is increasingly important in identifying individuals at risk and enabling prevention or very early detection of breast cancer through timely genetic testing and surveillance. Thank you for the thought process in including this topic .bajaj.9

It was also an engaging session teaching and discussing with a group of gynecologists and breast surgeons about how our approach to counseling, screening, and prevention needs to evolve.

All in all, a packed weekend of academics, sharing perspectives, and working together to move the needle in breast cancer prevention. .hospitals

Armpit swelling during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

It could simply be extra breast tissue reacting to hormones.
Most of the time it’s nothing to worry about, but a breast specialist consultation can help confirm the cause and guide you if any treatment is needed.

Don’t panic. Get the right advice.

It was good to present at the best of St Gallens international breast cancer Conference, Kolkata on “Hereditary Breast–Ovarian Cancer: A Surgeon’s and a Patient’s Perspective”🎀

A reminder that the way we counsel, shapes the way patients cope, decide, and heal. Sometimes a conversation can open entirely new avenues—for surgeons to rethink communication, and for patients to understand the long-term repercussions of their choices. .
