Why vaccine takers shouldn't worry?

🩸 Facts about TTS (Thrombotic thrombocytopenic syndrome) - a rare side effect of vaccine
termed as VITT (Vaccine Induced Thrombotic thrombocytopenia)

🩸 It is characterized by the sudden formation of small blood clots throughout the body, leading to a depletion of platelets.

🩸 It's a very rare condition with an incidence of 3-15 cases per million vaccinations.
Incidence is extremely low. Risk of death and serious outcomes of COVID-19 far outweigh risk of Vaccine Induced TTS

🩸 5 criteria are considered to diagnose vaccine induced TTS (VITT) :
(1) COVID vaccine 4 to 42 days prior to symptom onset
(2) Any venous or arterial thrombosis (often cerebral or abdominal)
(3) Low platelet count less than 1.5 L / dl
(4) Positive Platelet factor -4 (PF4) Antibodies
(5) Markedly elevated D-dimer (> 4 times upper limit of normal)

🩸 TTS is seen within 42 days after receiving Covishield. It's been almost more than 2 years. So Covishield vaccine takers need not worry about Covishield induced TTS
