The Apollo Cochlear Implant Clinic , the first of its kind in South India, was established in 1994 at the Apollo Health City Campus, Hyderabad. The Clinic is headed by Dr.E.C.Vinaya Kuamr and Co-ordinated by Dr.K.Rambabu. With more than 650 implantations performed since 1994, our Cochlear Implant Program has grown to be one of the largest pediatric cochlear implant programs in India and South Asia. Caring for your child is a dedicated implant team of renowned ENT Surgeons, experienced Audiologists, Speech pathologists, AVT Therapists, a psychologist, a registered nurse and support staff to help with the whole process. This multidisciplinary team has special expertise in evaluating and implanting very young children, including infants. The team serves children and adults of all ages with hearing impairment. Every year, the Cochlear Implant Clinic helps more than 150 hearing impaired adults and children gain improved access to sound; some of them hearing sounds for the very first time. A cochlear implant can help people of all ages; our youngest recipient being 9 months old and our oldest, 84 years.
