Principle and Technique of the Brace
The Milwaukee brace consists of several components that work together to correct spinal deformities:

Pelvic Corset: This component fits snugly over the iliac crests and around the waist while curving upwards in front to support the abdomen. It helps maintain a posterior pelvic tilt, which can reduce lumbar lordosis often seen in scoliosis patients.

Metal Uprights: These are attached to the pelvic corset and extend upward to connect with a neck ring inclined at 20 degrees to the horizontal. The uprights are adjustable to accommodate growth.

Throat Mold: Positioned just under the chin, this mold encourages proper head alignment by reminding patients to retract their chins and keep their heads centered over their pelvis.

Rib Pressure Pad: This pad applies pressure directly on rib prominences to correct rib rotation associated with kyphosis.
