Pause for Perspective

Pause for Perspective Pause for Perspective is a counselling and psychotherapy centre. We explore a variety of issues and also tap into wellbeing through programs in Mindfulness.

Pause for Perspective is a safe space for introspective seekers. This is a guide for seekers who desire to live intentionally. Through products, blogposts and community space we explore ways to pause, and gather perspective to live intentionally and with calm in our increasingly busy world. https://linktr.ee/pauseforperspective

PFP Founder-Director, Dr. Aarathi Selvan. PhD. , writes about not looking at recent policy changes in isolation. It's crucial to think of these as part of a larger oppressive design that determines who gets to learn, practice and whose ways of care are considered valid.

We hope this read centers the urgency to reimagine academia, mental health and psychology that is rooted in care and embodied social-justice.

As we continue to center the agency of children, we want to share this document 🖍️Rights of a Child🖍️

Empowering children needs commitment to not see children as passive recipients of care and instruction, and instead we need to recognize them as active, competent individuals capable of holding wisdom.

We also acknowledge that while children have clear insights, intuitions and understandings of their own needs, the world can be very overwhelming for them to navigate alone and therefore it's on the adults to be a safe container to support them (not in condescending/controlling ways).

It's the responsibility of the adults around them to hold these rights in an embodied way.

An invitation to explore shared experiences, confront marginalities, reflect on resilience, and feel deeply witnessed.
This isn’t a lecture. It’s not about being “right.”
It’s about being real, together. ✨

🔸 Reflect on personal challenges and experiences
🔸 Share stories of resilience, joy, connection, and struggle
🔸 Explore your relationship with God beyond rigidity
🔸 Unlearn shame and deconstruct dominant religious narratives
🔸 Reflect on Islamic teachings with love and complexity
🔸 Build solidarity across differences
🔸 Sit in a circle that includes all — across sects, identities, and orientations
🔸 Root yourself in love, not fear
🔸 Reflect on Islamic teachings with love and complexity
🔸 And above all, feel less alone

This is not a space for preaching, exclusion, or shame.
No one’s here to correct your way of being.
We are here to witness you. With softness.

Come as you are. Bring your full self. There’s space for you here. 🌿
