1. Cause
Caused by the Human papillomavirus (HPV) – a common viral infection of the skin.

3. Spread
Can spread by touch and wet surfaces (bathrooms, pools) → avoid walking barefoot.
4. Treatment
Can go on its own, but often needs treatment like:

• Cryotherapy / cautery / laser
5. Do’s & Don’ts
• ❌ Don’t cut or pick
• ❌ Don’t share footwear/towels
• ✅ Keep feet clean & dry

Hidradenitis suppurativa is now understood as a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease, not just an infection.
Management has shifted toward early use of biologics, with Adalimumab remaining first-line and newer IL-17 inhibitors like Secukinumab showing strong efficacy.
Conventional treatments such as antibiotics and hormonal therapy are mainly used as adjuncts or bridge therapy, rather than definitive long-term solutions.
Advanced disease often requires a combination of biologics and surgical intervention for optimal outcomes.
Early escalation and individualized treatment are crucial to prevent irreversible scarring and sinus tract formation.

Alhamdulillah 🤍

A beautiful moment today — a happy father with his twins, both recovering so well from atopic dermatitis. Seeing them comfortable and smiling is truly rewarding.

He brought sweets as a gesture of gratitude, but the real sweetness lies in their healing.

Grateful to Allah for granting shifa, and thankful to my dear patients for trusting the process and following treatment so sincerely.
