Bronchial Asthma:

1. Chronic inflammatory airway disease causing reversible airflow limitation, with symptoms like wheeze, cough, chest tightness, and breathlessness.
2. Triggers include dust, pollen, smoke, cold air, viral infections, exercise, perfumes, and stress.
3. Diagnosis is clinical and supported by spirometry showing reversible obstruction (improvement after bronchodilator).
4. Main treatment is inhaled corticosteroids ± long-acting bronchodilators; reliever inhalers (SABA) are for acute symptoms.
5. Prevention & control: avoid triggers, correct inhaler technique, use controller medication regularly, and get annual flu vaccination.
