We are happy to share that Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) has been awarded for Innovation – Human Health Product of the Year (Havisure), India’s first and only indigenous Hepatitis A vaccine.

In addition an award for being the Best in Veterinary Healthcare Vaccines was also given at the Hybiz Tv Business Excellence Awards Function held at the HICC Novotel in Hyderabad. This reaffirms IIL’s leadership across both human and animal health segments.

The evening celebrated organizations that lead, innovate and set new benchmarks for the industry, along with visionaries who have shaped healthcare in India. Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) Honoured for Excellence in Healthcare Innovation!

IIL has been recognized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the ‘CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2025 : Top 100 Innovative Company’, chosen from leading sectors, including healthcare, IT, defence, aerospace, power, engineering, automobile, telecom, FMCG and others.

The award was presented during the ‘CII Global Summit on Technology, R&D and Intellectual Property’ in New Delhi held during 16 - 17 December 2025, themed ‘From Dependence to Dominance: Research, Deep Tech, and IP for AtmaNirbhar Bharat’. Dr. Santosh B Ghadage, Sr. Vice President - Mfg. had the privilege of accepting the award on behalf of IIL.

Telangana Rising Global Summit is organized by the Government of Telangana at the Bharat Future City, Hyderabad, India, from 8th-12th of December 2025. The objective of the summit is to present a roadmap for Telangana state to achieve USD 3 Trillion economy by 2047, in line with Viksit Bharat of the Government of India.

Hon'ble Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, inaugurated this Global event in the presence of Shri A Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana, several Indian and global dignitaries such as Shri Kailash Satyarthi Nobel Laureate, G Kishan Reddy, Hon'ble Union Minister, Shri Bhatti Vikramarka Dy CM, Shri D Sridhar Babu, Hon'ble Minister IT, EC, I&C Telangana. Eric Swider, Trump Media CEO. Karan Adani, Adani Group etc. were present.

This event showcased each and every sector which can together propel Telangana to a USD 3 Trillion economy by 2047. Technology and Life Sciences sectors are some of the key sectors in shaping the success of Telangana.

Dr. K. Anand Kumar, Managing Director of Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), and Dr. Santosh Balasaheb Ghadage, Sr. VP - Mfg. visited the ICAR–National Institute of Foot and Mouth Disease (ICFMD/ICAR-NIFMD), Bhubaneswar, for an insightful interaction with Director Dr. R.P. Singh, Dr. Jajati Mohapatra, Principal Scientist, along with senior scientists. The discussions focused on strengthening India’s animal health landscape through advanced technologies, newer diagnostics, and improved/next-generation vaccine approaches.

The visit began with presentations from both organizations, during which Dr. Anand Kumar highlighted IIL’s four-decade legacy in supplying essential animal vaccines and its expansion into the human vaccine space, contributing significantly to India’s vaccine self-sufficiency. Dr. R.P. Singh, Director, ICFMD along with senior scientists then discussed on the institute’s wide-ranging work, including high-containment FMD research, molecular diagnostics, national-level training programs, development of modern vaccine platforms, testing of trade and regulatory samples, and simplified quality-control systems aimed at improving veterinary biologicals and animal health.

During the facility tour, Dr. Anand Kumar and Dr. Santosh Ghadage visited high-biocontainment research laboratories, FMDV characterization units, molecular epidemiology sections, diagnostic development facilities, and QC innovation laboratories. The IIL team expressed deep appreciation for the scientific rigor, commitment, and national relevance of the work being carried out at the institute.

The interaction also covered potential areas of collaboration, particularly in enhancing diagnostic capabilities and exploring the use of AI and machine learning for improved FMD vaccine strain matching. Both institutions recognized the value of combining ICFMD’s research strengths with IIL’s proven manufacturing expertise to accelerate the development of affordable, high-quality vaccines and diagnostic tools for India’s livestock sector.

The visit concluded with a shared understanding that stronger partnerships, supported by advanced research and digital technologies, will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the country’s livestock health and improving disease preparedness.
