We are thrilled to announce our foray into Poultry vaccines. Department of Biotechnology, India (DBT)- Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) and IIL have come together in a landmark partnership for the joint development of multivalent poultry vaccines using THSTI’s Multivalent Self assembled Nanocage Vaccine platform (MSN platform). The agreement was signed today at Hyderabad by Dr. K. Anand Kumar, MD, IIL and Dr.Sweety Samal, Associate Professor, THSTI.

IIL remains committed to developing and supplying high-quality, affordable vaccines.

IIL received “National Award for Energy Efficient unit in Energy Management 2025” from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for our Gachibowli and Ooty manufacturing plants.

This is the third consecutive yearly award for our Gachibowli site and first award in energy management for our Ooty site. We have been in the forefront addressing the “One Health” space by Integrating human health, animal health and the environment. IIL emphasises on “Responsible Manufacturing” and undertakes all possible measures to ensure sustainability.

Thermal energy consumption at IIL has been reduced by adopting alternate cleaner fuel options like LPG and Natural gas for boiler operations. Recycling of water ensures all IIL manufacturing plant operations are “Zero liquid discharge”. Deployment of energy efficient Chillers with auto tube cleaning system, Optimisation of energy consumption through the implementation of energy management system, installation of Solar Plant, Synchronization of DG sets etc., are few examples of our efforts towards conservation of resources.

Dr. K. Anand Kumar, Managing Director, Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) welcomed the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Mary Van Andel, from the Ministry for Primary Industries, New Zealand accompanied by two officers, Mr. Eshan Jayawardena, Manager, Trade Plan Implementation and Ms. Kethoseno Peseyia, Policy Advisor, High Commission of New Zealand, New Delhi. The visiting team went around IIL’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and understood the capabilities of IIL in the “One Health” space producing high quality human and veterinary vaccines at an affordable cost catering to both domestic and the export markets. The team from New Zealand appreciated the efforts of IIL in its contribution to various national animal disease control programs in India such as FMD, CSF, PPR, and Rabies apart from its prominent role in serving the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with vaccines under Universal Immunization Programme. MD, IIL emphasised how IIL effectively addressed all three areas of Availability, Affordability and Accessibility of vaccines. Dr Mary suggested that collaborative work can be undertaken to address transboundary diseases. Heads of Functions from the Technical departments were present and interacted with the visiting team.

A moment of pride for Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL)! We are thrilled to announce that Indian Council of Medical Research and IIL have come together in a landmark partnership. An agreement for the development of vaccine for Malaria, a disease that is affecting millions was signed at the inaugural function of the 11th edition of iPhex and IndiaMedTechExpo2025 .

Sr. VP & Head of Production, Dr Santosh Balasaheb Ghadage and VP R&D Dr. Sridhar Kottakota had the privilege of attending this ceremony with the support of the visionary leadership of our MD, Dr.K.Anand Kumar.

Dr. K.Anand Kumar, Managing Director, Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) welcomed Dr.Triveni Dutt (Director) and Senior Scientists from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI-ICAR) to IIL’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. He said that the collaborative efforts between IVRI and IIL have resulted in many vaccines which are currently being used in the millions and sold at a very affordable price.

Dr.Kumar reiterated the commitment of IIL towards science-based solutions to improve productivity and thereby improving income to our livestock farmers. Both the institutes will work on innovative technologies in the areas of poultry, canine and protozoal vaccines addressing the unmet needs of the country.

The Director ICAR-IVRI lauded IIL’s efforts and its extensive portfolio of biologicals and various other pharmaceutical products not only in the Animal Health space but also in human health. During the visit, the Director-IVRI congratulated IIL for creation of state of the art manufacturing facilities with adequate automation that is of scale to meet the nation’s requirements. The team IVRI comprised of Dr S K Singh, Joint Director (Research), Dr Pallab Chaudhury, Joint Director, Bengaluru, Dr. Madhusudhan Hosamani, Principal Scientist and Dr Suresh Basagoudavar, Principal Scientist.
