Caring for Your New Crown
Your new dental crown is key to a healthy smile! Here's how to care for it:
Temporary Crown (while waiting for permanent):
Avoid chewing gum and hard, sticky, or chewy foods
Chew on the opposite side
Brush softly; avoid direct flossing around it
If it loosens or falls out, call us ASAP!
Permanent Crown (first 24 hours):
Let the cement fully set
Avoid hard and sticky foods
You can brush, but floss gently around the area
Recovery (few days to weeks):
Rinse with warm salt water to reduce swelling
Over-the-counter pain relievers can help
Stick to softer foods initially
If pain or biting issues persist, contact us for an adjustment
Maintain your crown with regular brushing and flossing, just like your other teeth, for long-lasting results!
