Now that it's start of rainy season, it's time to.protect cactus and succulents from too much of water. Though if you can collect rain water and use it for your plants, that's a great idea. While some people advice not to fertilize succulents during this period, one should follow usual fertilizing cycle of two months for your potted plants. Get your succulents in covered area but monitor the sunlight. Watering patterns remains the same, water after a day once you see the plant soil has dried out competely. Water it fully till it starts draining out from its holes.

Succulents are called fatty plants as they store water either in their stems or leaves. They typically come from tropical region and hence require drought period in between the watering cycles. Hence water a succulent so much that water starts draining out from its holes. Water it next time only when it's soil has dried out for more than 2 days.
They like to have this drought period and during this drought period only new roots grow.
