She studied and experimented for over 20 years to perfect her skills. Now, she wants to share her secrets for eating healthy and delicious meals every day. After studying nutrition at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s level, she founded a health products business with her husband in the US. The success of their company has allowed her to explore the world extensively. Until two years ago, when they decided to move to Hyderabad, she lived for over 20 years abroad, dividing her time between Toronto, Canada, Miami, USA and Florence, Italy, while travelling around the world learning about healthy cooking from experts in each locale and perfecting her techniques and skills. She had taught many classes, over the years, on gourmet raw foods, authentic Italian, Japanese, Indian, Thai, Mexican and fusion cuisines. She constantly develops recipes of exciting new, healthy, tasty foods. Until recently, she was the Holistic Nutrition Expert at Apollo Wellness Center or as her colleagues affectionately refer to her as “celebrity nutritionist”. She has been featured in Eenadu, ETV, B Positive Magazine, You and I Magazine, India Today and other publications. She is now writing a book scheduled to come out in 2013 entitled Healthy Gourmet Everyday: How to Make Your Meals Twice as Healthy Without Extra Work.
“I see how much healthy tasty cooking is needed here in Hyderabad. I know that many people want to detox, lose weight, look and feel younger and to live more vibrantly, but many don’t know how to start or what to do. The good news is that learning what you need to know is simpler than you think! I love teaching my clients that holistic living is simpler than people think. Almost anyone can learn to eat and live well, and my mission is to help others along their journey”. To spread this love and mission, she started an initiative in the name of Vibrant Living Foods.

So many of you thought these were black truffles, how I wish! 🖤
They are actually fresh water chestnuts, and in Indian markets we usually get the harder, horn-shaped caltrop variety nicely arranged on the street carts. The peeling takes a bit of patience for the Indian variety, but the crisp, sweet reward inside is worth every minute.
They are hydrating, gentle on digestion, naturally gluten-free, and full of good minerals, truly a winter nourishment gift.

In today’s video, I am sharing two recipes: a raw miso-marinated salad and a warm Szechuan style stir-fry.

A dear friend sent me acerola cherries, aronia berries, and noni fruit; a farmer shared a bag of water caltrops; our own terrace offered tender sweet-potato greens & henna and Vibrant Living gave me fresh coconuts, amla, and tiny potatoes. I gathered them all together on a cozy Sunday morning and spent several hours creating with this beautiful mix of nature’s gifts.

I brewed bright acerola tea, pressed deep purple aronia juice, prepped noni fruit cubes for future smoothies, peeled water caltrops for a new recipe idea, and even mixed my own natural hair dye with fresh henna, amla, beet root and left in an iron pan, the quiet secret behind my orange red streaks 🤣

A nourishing, colourful morning… playing with nature, grounding myself in simple rituals, and feeling deeply satisfied.

Sri Lanka welcomed me with an elephant casually strolling down the street and that set the tone for a trip that was simple, gentle, and soulful. From the powerful Koneshwaram Temple in Trincomalee to the calm, green charm of Colombo, everything felt beautifully rooted. The food felt like home, clean, coconut-rich, and full of beautiful flavours; coconut sambol, gotu kola, idiyappams, breadfruit and green mango curries. What stood out the most was the mindfulness of the people, the cleanliness, and the quiet, cared for beaches. I can’t believe it took me this long to visit, and now I am already planning my next trip. If you’ve been to Sri Lanka, tell me your favourite spots, I would love to explore more next time.
