Safety Club- Sahas Foundation A NON PROFIT ORG., empowering children with safety skills, across India both URBAN & RURAL. www.safetyclub.org, email-info@safetyclub.org

Over 60,000 children in India die accidental deaths every year and many more are injured and disabled every year. Over 53% of the children in India face some form of sexual abuse while growing up. There’s a need to proactively educate and equip children with safety skills so they can be safe and protect themselves in their immediate environment. To address this, Sahas foundation a non-profit organization has launched a safety program for children ages 2-7. As part of the program, we’ve authored a children’s book called “Safety Club” that educates children on safety skills. The book is child friendly with intuitive illustrations and covers topics that include safety at home, on the road, safety when the kids are on their own and finally makes the children aware of their responsibility to keep the planet safe. The book also contains important numbers to remember and activities at the end that can help them internalize safety concepts. As part of the safety program, we will provide the school with the “Safety club” book for all the students and a handout for the teachers on facilitating discussion about the concepts in the book and a power point presentation that can be reviewed with children to engage the children while discussing the safety concepts. We recommend that 1 school period of 45 minutes to an hour be dedicated to reviewing the concepts in the book every school year. The Safety Club Book and workshop materials for teachers are available for sale at a nominal cost through the foundation. For every book that is bought by schools or individuals, Sahas Foundation donates one book to children who cannot afford the books. we want every child to be empowered with safety skills so they can always be safe at home, on the road and on their own. We are also looking for individual donors, corporate sponsors and government funding to empower every child across the country with safety skills

“When a child feels unsafe, the right adult can make all the difference. Trusted adults are those who listen, believe, and act in the best interests of a child. They might be parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, doctors, or even a neighbor—a familiar, supportive figure who makes a child feel secure.
Teaching children how to recognize these people builds resilience and safety. It reminds them that no matter what, there’s always someone ready to support and protect them. Start the conversation today and help your child build a circle of trust.

When a child discloses abuse, your reaction can shape their healing journey. 💙
Stay calm and truly listen — don’t show shock or doubt. Believe them, because children rarely lie about abuse. Reassure them it’s not their fault and avoid pressing for details — that’s for trained professionals.
Your role is to make them feel safe and take immediate action to protect them. Follow the law: contact child protection services, a helpline, or the police right away.

Every moment counts. Every word matters. You could be the reason a child feels heard, protected, and believed.

🔐 Digital Safety for Kids – Part 3: Share With Care 🌐👧👦

In today’s connected world, sharing online has become second nature for kids—whether it’s a fun photo, a cool location, or something personal. But not everything belongs on the internet. 📱🚫

This week, we’re diving into how to share safely online—because what kids post today can shape how they’re seen tomorrow. Oversharing can lead to privacy issues, cyberbullying, and even risks from strangers.

Here are a few simple rules to share with your kids:
✅ Always ask: Would I share this with a stranger in real life?
✅ Turn off location tagging on posts unless a trusted adult says it’s okay.
✅ Avoid posting full names, school names, or daily routines.
✅ Talk about what’s “okay to share” vs. “keep private.”

💬 Remember: Once it’s online, it’s out there forever. Teaching kids to pause before they post is one of the most powerful digital habits we can give them.

At SafetyClub, we’re proud to work with families, educators, and schools to raise awareness about child safety in digital spaces. Through this series, we’re equipping parents and kids with the tools to navigate the online world confidently and safely.

📣 Stay tuned for Part 4 next week, and don’t forget to check out Parts 1 and 2 if you missed them!

💻✨ Together, we can create a safer internet for every child.

Part 2 of our Digital Safety Series for Kids
In today’s online world, not everything is as harmless as it seems. Pop-ups, ads, unknown links, and even emails can hide dangers like viruses or scams. That’s why it’s so important to Think Before You Click.

Talk to your kids about being cautious online. Teach them to never click on anything unfamiliar without checking with a trusted adult first. It’s a simple habit that can protect them from serious online threats.

Let’s work together to raise a generation of kids who are not just tech-savvy, but also digitally safe and responsible.

🌍💻 Part 1: In today’s digital world, safety goes far beyond the physical.
Our kids are growing up online — learning, playing, and socializing in virtual spaces. That’s why it’s so important to teach them how to protect their personal information, just like we teach them to look both ways before crossing the street. 👀🔐

Start the conversation early. Talk about privacy settings, strong passwords, and the importance of thinking twice before sharing. The digital world is amazing — let’s help our kids navigate it safely. 💬🛡️
