Kanha Shanti Vanam, the changing seasons bring a plethora of colours. All around, flowering trees bloom — each one adding its unique charm to the landscape.
Among the many flowering trees, you can find the soft pink blooms of Tabebuia rosea, the golden yellow of Tabebuia aurea, and the bright brushes of the Australian bottlebrush. The white amaltas stands out with its rare and graceful flowers, while Cochlospermum indica and Palash light up the forest in yellow and orange. The silk cotton tree is striking with its large red flowers, and Gulmohar brings a splash of fiery color. Frangipani trees add a quiet fragrance to the air.
These flowering trees don’t just add beauty, but bring a sense of peace and stillness to all who walk by them.

The King of Fruits has arrived with its groove!

Everyone looks forward to the mango season Kanha Shanti Vanam, the buzz in the air, the sweet aroma, and the simple joy it brings. Across 20–25 acres, we grow 15 different varieties, each with its own taste, texture, and character.

The mangoes are allowed to ripen fully on the trees. During this time, interns help sort the fruits by variety, gaining hands-on experience as they work. When the time is right, the mangoes are harvested and brought to a clean facility. Here, they are washed in cinnamon water, a natural method used to protect them from fungal infections without chemicals. We allow the mangoes to develop their natural sweetness slowly and naturally.

Every step, from plucking to sorting, is done carefully to ensure quality and hygiene. These mangoes are then shared within the community at Kanha Shanti Vanam, as well as sent outside for everyone to enjoy!

Part 1: The Making of Babuji Vanam

With the commemorative celebrations of Babuji Maharaj’s 125th birth anniversary around the corner, Kamlesh D Patel envisioned transforming a quiet stretch of land Kanha Shanti Vanam. Though already beautiful, he wished to enhance it further by creating a space where one could sit, reflect, and connect deeply with nature and with oneself.
A dedicated team of volunteers set themselves to work, pouring their hearts into bringing this vision to life before the celebrations began. Sitting pods, earthing areas, pathways, and a goshala were thoughtfully designed. At the heart of it all stands a fountain, symbolizing the flow of life and the essence of Babuji’s teachings in practice.

As you step into Babuji Vanam, you connect with nature, with your inner self, and experience a deep sense of oneness.

Captured here are moments during the transformation of this special space at Kanha

Stay tuned for Part 2 of ‘The Making of Babuji Vanam’!

Our story

Kanha Shanti Vanam is a one of a kind place that brings forth a unique blend of a blissfully serene Spiritual Retreat and a well-planned lifestyle supported by modern infrastructure. Set in the lap of nature amidst the lush green fields of Kanha village, Ranga Reddy District (around 25 kilometers from the Rajeev Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad), Kanha has been planned to be an integrated township having a Spiritual Retreat Centre at its heart surrounded by residential colonies (that would comprise of both independent houses as well as apartments). Referred to by the Great Masters as “The high place in Hyderabad, which is charged with vibrations capable of working wonders”, it is a place that has been envisioned to “become the Jewel of Heartfulness ”, indicating that “the future of Heartfulness is there”. All seekers of spirituality from around the world are welcome to come and meditate in the purity and sanctity of the divine atmosphere of Kanha Shanti Vanam. The growing Heartfulness community practicing the Sahaj Marg system of meditation (a simple and effective heart-based practice), is fast becoming a reference point for peace and unity across the world. Kanha is at the heart of that community. The retreat center is designed to facilitate extensive spiritual training & mentoring programs that aim at promoting personal inner experience and providing opportunities to learn and contribute. Currently a considerable amount of building and construction work is being quietly carried out maintaining the peace and tranquility of the Ashram. This includes construction of dormitories & dining for 5000 people, meditation hall, kitchen, toilets and other facilities that could host a spiritual gathering of over 50,000 people for a few days.

All seekers of spirituality from around the world are welcome to come and meditate here, in the purity and sanctity of the atmosphere at Kanha Shanti Vanam.

The construction of this high place of Sahaj Marg has been progressing for a few years: The superb Babuji memorial has been unveiled; the first set of apartment blocks have been handed over; the permanent dormitories will be operational shortly; the construction of the grand meditation hall is now underway. Thousands of trees have been planted and the entire campus is awash with a hue of green. Over the next few years, we will see the transformation of this venue into a veritable garden of Eden, befitting its name.
