IIT Guwahati student Pranav Nair, who has cerebral palsy, has triumphed over adversity by securing a coveted placement at Google, thus realising his dream of becoming a software engineer.
His journey, marked by challenges since childhood, was made possible through the unwavering support of his parents and the dedicated faculty at the institute.
Facing academic hurdles and logistical hassles, Pranav’s parents advocated for his education in mainstream schools, a path met with reluctance due to the need for specialised facilities and accommodations.
Pranav’s personal journey involved societal perceptions about disability, leading him to miss out on typical childhood experiences. However, he found success in public speaking.
He credited his determination to his parents, who encouraged him to dream beyond conventional norms. Initially aspiring to be a doctor, Pranav’s interest in computers led him to pursue a career as a software engineer.
IIT Guwahati became a stepping stone for Pranav, offering a platform with diverse opportunities for growth, including placements, hackathons, inter-IIT events, and participation in various clubs.
His achievement at Google is not just a personal triumph but a testament to the power of determination, breaking through physical limitations to reach new heights. Pranav’s story illustrates that with perseverance and support, one can overcome obstacles and fulfil any dream.
Congratulations to Pranav Nair for this remarkable achievement!
