After experimenting with various rubberdam thickness and colours ..
My final Final Choice: Thick and Blue
After considering the pros and cons, I chose a thick, blue rubber dam for the following reasons:
1. Durability: The thick rubber dam is highly resistant to tearing, ensuring it remains intact throughout the procedure. This is crucial for maintaining a sterile field and reducing the risk of contamination.
2. Visibility: The blue color provides excellent contrast against the natural color of teeth, enhancing visibility. This makes it easier to see the working area, reducing eye strain and allowing for more precise work.
3. Efficiency: Despite being less flexible, the thick rubber dam’s durability outweighs the initial application challenge. It stays in place better and withstands the demands of complex procedures.retracts the soft tissue effectively
By opting for a thick, blue rubber dam, I ensure a more efficient, effective, and comfortable experience for both myself and my patients. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Calinpop and Dr. Celine Higtone for their invaluable guidance in teaching me about the use of rubber dams. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping me improve my dental practice.
