Our Director Dr. Bharati Kulkarni recently participated in a high-level international expert convening on the 'Prevention and Management of Gestational Diabetes (GDM)', held from February 3–5 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The event, jointly organized by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Gates Foundation, served as a strategic hub for the world’s leading clinicians, researchers, and public health specialists to collaborate on accelerating global progress against GDM.

Dr. Kulkarni chaired two critical sessions:
"Successful and Unsuccessful Interventions for the Prevention and Management of GDM” and “Research Priorities in the Indian Settings," identifying the unique clinical and socio-economic hurdles required to improve maternal health outcomes in India.

Proud to share that our institute was a co-organiser of the India launch of The Lancet Series on Ultra-Processed Foods and Human Health.

We are grateful to Hon’ble MPs Mr Naveen Jindal and Ms Maliwal for gracing the occasion and for strongly reiterating their commitment to contribute to India’s fight against obesity and diet-related NCDs.

The dialogue underscored the urgent need for evidence-informed policies, healthier food environments, and collective action to protect public health.

CEO Food Safety and Standards Authority of India also reaffirmed that policy dialogue would be continued with acdemics, researchers and public health champions
