Leirik Institute of Nursing, Imphal Nursing College in Imphal, Manipur The Leirik Memorial Charitable Society (LMCS) came into existence in the year 1984.

Health services were almost nil in Manipur during the 1940’s and Thongram Ongbi (L) Leirik Devi succumbed to her illness in 1945. This sad loss prompted the Thongram family to establish the Leirik Memorial Charitable Society in her ever loving memory and contribute services to the people of Manipur, particularly in Health and Education Sectors. The Society established two schools upto XII standa

rd affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi namely RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Pangei, Imphal East and RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam, Imphal East. Further, RK Sanatombi Devi College of Education, Imphal was also established duly recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Manipur University for B Ed & M Ed Courses. To take another step forward, the Society established a Nursing Institute in the current year (2015) and strives to meet the demand for innovation and leadership in nursing education namely Leirik Institute of Nursing which is duly permitted for GNM Programme with an intake of 20 seats from the academic session 2015-16 by the Indian Nursing Council.
