In Manipur, many still believe that only a government job guarantees stability, while private ventures are seen as uncertain and unstable. Dr. Thangjam Dhabali Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of BABINA Group, chose to defy that belief. In 1983, he left his secure position at RIMS to start a modest diagnostics lab with just a vision and determination. Over the next four decades, that small lab grew into a powerhouse of healthcare and hospitality, with NABL-accredited laboratory, a state-of-the-art cancer hospital, Classic Hospitality Training Institute and Manipur’s most prominent three-star and four-star hotels. Today, BABINA Group employs more than 1,250 people. With the BABINA Institute of Nursing and Manipur’s first five-star hotel under construction, Dr. Dhabali Singh continues to inspire, proving that courage and vision can redefine an entire economy.
