Medical-Surgical Nursing Department of Choithram College of Nursing observed World Rabies Day with the theme “Act Now: You, Me, Community.”

🧠 The event featured Comic Strip Making Competition and an impactful awareness session by the faculty members of Medical Surgical Nursing Department on rabies, focusing on its prevention and management and empowering nursing students with vital knowledge to protect community health. 💉🐾

Choithram College of Nursing enthusiastically participated in an expert lecture and quiz competition organised by dietetics department of Choithram hospital and research centre As part of the lecture, Dr. Mayank Jain, a renowned cardiologist, who delivered a special lecture on "How to Keep Your Heart Healthy"on 29/09/25 from 12-2 PM.

Highlights of the lecture

1. Regular Exercise: Engage in moderate-intensity exercise for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week.
2. Balanced Diet: Focus on consuming a heart-healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
3. Stress Management: Practice stress-reducing techniques like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
4. Monitor Health Indicators: Regularly check blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar levels to identify potential risks.
5. Lifestyle Changes: Quit smoking, maintain a healthy weight, and get enough sleep to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Our students participated in the quiz competition with great enthusiasm.
The event was a huge success, and we're confident that it will inspire our students to prioritize heart health and make informed lifestyle choices.

✨ HIV/AIDS Awareness ✨

The NSS Unit of Choithram College of Nursing organized a Nukkad Natak on HIV/AIDS Awareness at Kalaria village on 30th September 2025.
Our NSS volunteers actively delivered impactful messages on prevention, reducing stigma, and spreading awareness within the community.
This initiative reflects our strong commitment towards health education and fostering a responsible and informed society.

On 29th September 2025, we had the privilege of attending a roundtable organized by 𝐌𝐫.𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐚𝐳𝐥𝐢, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐁𝐚𝐡á’í 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐕, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞.

It was an enriching platform to explore how environmental sustainability and economic development can be harmonized, while also emphasizing the crucial role of community engagement, education, and collective action in this balance.

🌸 Navratri Celebrations at Choithram College of Nursing 🌸

Our campus came alive with vibrant colors, music, and devotion as students celebrated the spirit of Navratri 2025! 💃✨
From energetic Garba and Dandiya performances to traditional attire showcasing India’s rich culture, the celebration was a perfect blend of joy, togetherness, and festive spirit.

🌱 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 🌱

On 27th August 2025, the NSS Unit of Choithram College of Nursing organized a tree plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” A total of 20 saplings were planted in the campus premises with the wholehearted participation of faculty members and NSS volunteers.

The initiative not only aimed at contributing to a greener environment but also at instilling a sense of responsibility towards nature. NSS volunteers pledged to take care of the plants by watering them regularly and ensuring their healthy growth. 🌿✨

“Empowering Skills, Saving Lives – Learning Beyond Classrooms!”
The Department of Child Health Nursing, Choithram College of Nursing, organized Student Training & Skill Enhancement Program -Neonatal Resuscitation on 25th September 2025 with the objective to equip nursing students with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in life saving skill- neonatal resuscitation and enabling them to recognize and manage newborns requiring immediate resuscitation effectively.

The workshop began with a pre-test to assess participants’ prior knowledge. It combined theoretical lessons with hands-on training in essential newborn care, neonates require initial steps and PPV resuscitation. B.Sc. Nursing 4th-year students actively engaged in workstations and practiced different scenario to manage neonates, guided by faculty. Case scenarios allowed students to apply their learning effectively. A post-test measured their progress, and feedback highlighted that students enjoyed the workshop while gaining practical skills and confidence in neonatal resuscitation.
