The second day of the Self Defence Training Session was successfully conducted on 6th March 2026 for the students of B.Sc. Nursing 1st and 2nd Semester at Choithram College of Nursing.
The training continued with advanced practical demonstrations and guided practice, allowing students to apply the techniques they learned on the first day. Trainers from Danam Foundation demonstrated effective self-protection methods, escape techniques, and strategies to handle real-life threatening situations.
Students actively participated in the practice sessions, learning how to respond calmly, maintain balance, and protect themselves during emergencies. The session emphasized the importance of mental preparedness, confidence, and quick decision-making in ensuring
personal safety.
The two-day program proved to be highly engaging, informative, and empowering, equipping the students with valuable life skills for self-protection and confidence building.

In todayโ€™s world, self-defense has become an essential life skill for women, helping them build confidence, awareness, and the ability to respond effectively in challenging situations. Recognizing the importance of empowering young women with personal safety skills, Choithram College of Nursing organized ๐“๐ฐ๐จ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐’๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง as part of the ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐–๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐งโ€™๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ.
The program was conducted on 5th March 2026 & 6th March 2026 in the Old Auditorium by the ๐†๐ž๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐–๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง ๐„๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ of the college in collaboration with ๐ƒ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฆ ๐…๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of B.Sc. Nursing 1st and 2nd Semester.
During the session, students were taught practical strategies to protect themselves in challenging situations, including body balance, defensive posture, and quick response techniques. The interactive nature of the session helped students gain confidence, awareness, and empowerment.
The first day concluded with hands-on demonstrations and active participation, encouraging students to understand that self-defence is not only about physical strength but also about confidence, alertness, and presence of mind.

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day (15th February), the Department of Child Health Nursing, Choithram College of Nursing, in collaboration with Choithram Hospital and Research Centre, organized an awareness program on childhood cancer.

As part of the initiative, the students of B.Sc. Nursing 4th Year performed an awareness skit at the OPD of Choithram Hospital to educate patients and the public about early signs, timely diagnosis, and the importance of emotional support for children undergoing cancer treatment.

The program aimed to promote awareness and encourage equal access to quality care for every child.

The OBG Nursing Department, Choithram College of Nursing, under the Alumni Contribution Program, successfully organized a webinar on
โ€œPPH Management with Updated WHO Guidelinesโ€ on 9th February 2026.

The session was enriched by the expert talk of ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐š ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฎ๐๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐“๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ, ๐Š๐ข๐ง๐  ๐†๐ž๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ž ๐Œ๐ž๐๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐‹๐ฎ๐œ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ, who shared valuable, evidence-based insights on early identification and timely management of Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) as per updated WHO guidelines.
