You will often be told by well-meaning members of the community about how babies can get spoiled and giving advice on letting the baby cry it out.
Think again before you stop listening to your own instinct and listening to others!
It's important to respond, be it for continued nourishment with breastfeeding and / or comforting, rather than letting her cry it out.

We are getting it all wrong!

Parents in US are getting anxious around shortage of formula. And FDA is being blamed for shortage!

How did we even get here? Why are we not asking the right question?
Formula shortage is not new. Formula shortage has claimed many infant's life in the past.

Why were parents not supported to breastfeed. Why did we rely on formula.
Formula feeding is not only detrimental to optimum infant growth it also reduces the chances of future breastfeeding. And so when there is a shortage of formula, mothers cannot re-lactate overnight and make up for the lost supply because of formula feeding!

To help prevent outbreaks of food-related illness and problems like the formula shortage, the US Food and Drug Administration needs a clearer mission and a different kind of leadership, and it has to act with more urgency, according to a highly critical new report.

Make frequent eye contacts with your nursling
A newborn has vision as far as she can look at her mother.
A newborn often looks at her mother during nursing sessions. Making an eye contact with your newborn gives a lot of comfort and helps develop neural connections. Breastfeeding gives us those chance to look in them and feel them.
