Varma Union Nursing College, Indore

Mock practice training of disaster management was given to students of Varma Union Nursing College (Bsc & GNM) trained by the National Training Team on Saturday at NDRF Institute, Ralamandal. This training was given under the guidance of Sumit Jain, Divisional Commandant, Disaster Management, Indore. Our college was specially invited for this training.

Precautions and methods of prevention from various disasters like fire, earthquake, flood were taught by trainer Mr.Rangpal and his team.Mr. Utkarsh Chaudhary Senior Rover Ramashray Scout Team, Anwar Hussain Training Counselor Coordination Group, Savita Barone Vidya Sagar, Preeti Sethi Guide Captain Willsdom Academy Mhow played an important role in the training. Our students were part of this training.

They play an important role when accidents or disasters occur in the general public and society. With the support of the administration, students got the opportunity to learn with this team. Apart from Mr. Somesh Chaudhary (World Record), many officials (Collector of indore) were present on this occasion.

World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1 to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS.The world can end AIDS, with communities leading the way.Theme of this year is ~ " Let Community Leads."Organisations of communities living with, at risk of, or affected by HIV are the frontline of progress in the HIV response. Communities connect people with person-centred public health services, build trust, innovate, monitor implementation of policies and services, and hold providers accountable. The students of GNM 2nd year presented Health education in Varma Union Hospital Premise,they spread awareness about HIV AIDS & It's prevention ,also patient gain immense knowledge through their worthwhile Health education.This program was successfully organised by valuable guidance of Ms. Reetika William (HOD of MSN),also presence of Principal Mam & Vice Principal Mam made it more embellishing , at last it was very admirable program.

We are saddened to inform that our dearest Ruchi Yadav student of Bsc final year of our college has passed away due to medical condition She was a very sincere, diligent and a charming girl.Our heart felt condolences to her. We pray that the almighty give the bereaved family strength to withstand this tragic loss. May her soul rest in peace.

World Arthritis day is a global health awareness event organized every year on 12 October to create awareness about the rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, its impact on one's life and educating people the symptoms & preventive measures and guiding for the early diagnosis to cope up any further complications.Theme of this year is" Living with an RMD( Rheumatoid & musculoskeletal disease) at all stages of life",. On this day students of Gnm 2nd year actively participated in Poster competition. There were three groups who explained through posters about arthritis, it's sites, symptoms, management & prevention,also this program was coordinated by Ms. Reetika William (HOD of Medical Surgical Nursing) also this program is successfully conducted with the guidence of our respected Principal Mam Prof. Padma K. Singh & Vice Principal Mam Dr. Amita Joseph who evaluated student's knowledge by asking relevant questions regarding theme and topics.Students have put great efforts by making beautiful posters.

On 29th September 2023World Heart Day observed every year .Theme this year was "Use heart ,Know Heart" This day was celebrated under the able guidance of Professor Padma K Singh (Principal of Varma Union Nursing College and Students of Gnm 2nd year & Gnm 3rd year students of Varma Union Nursing College being part of this day in which perfomed mime act on awareness about risk factors, warning signs of heart disease in Varma Union Hospital and they acknowledge to different patients and their relatives ,also they have explained preventive measures to keep healthy heart.
