Resident doctors spend most of their time at their respective hospitals. It’s like a second home to the residents, hence the name resident. I remember my residency days. Have spent so many nights wandering from one ward to other checking on patients. Sometimes even from one building to another. Never felt scared to do night shifts because I never imagined not being safe at my own hospital.Pg resident from RG Kar would have felt the same like so many other residents. That’s why she went to that room to rest. She never would have imagined the torture she is going to endure there. She was killed and r***d in the safety of her working place, where she must have served hundreds of patients. Now some hooligans are trying to silence the voices asking for justice for her. The incidence of vandalism at RGKar following protests is alarming. Are the women truly not safe anywhere? How can we feel free when we can’t even feel safe in our working place? How are the future generations of doctors, both men and women, going to feel knowing that we are such easy targets for politicians and public? It’s time that everyone demand for justice and harshest punishment for the culprits. It’s high time we have better working conditions and security all around, especially for women.

Had an enlightening and enriching CME with IOGSA to discuss about the intricacies of pregnancy in autoimmune Rheumatic diseases this weekend. Discussed lots of important issues and tried to answer some pertinent questions
