7 ways yoga relieves chronic pain :

Combining breath awareness with the physical movements of a yoga practice helps release muscle tension held in your body.
Mild to moderate exercise actually decreases physical pain.
Practicing yoga on a daily basis may affect your response to pain, decreasing your level of perceived suffering.
For people with certain conditions, like arthritis, moving your joints through their range of motion and stretching your muscles can decrease the intensity of your pain or relieve your pain completely.
The increased flow of oxygen to the brain and muscle tissues in yoga improves your energy levels.
Although chronic pain can worsen our ability to handle other stresses in our lives, regular yoga practice can improve stress management and can have a feedback effect on improving chronic pain.

How To Prepare For Knee Surgery :

1.Ask questions –Ask your doctor as many questions as you'll consider . Ask them how long the surgery will take, what anesthesia you'll use, what rehab is best for you, how long you're not getting to be working, etc.

2.Start practicing your physical therapy –Figure out what physiotherapy exercises you'll have to do and begin them now. If you recognize you'll get on crutches, buy a pair now and begin practising walking around with them.

3.Write down medical information – Write down your emergency contact, insurance information, health conditions, and any medicines or supplements you're taking . People are getting to ask tons of questions on this the closer you get to the surgery and even during the physiotherapy session afterwards.

4.Exercise – Ask your doctor what exercises are best before your surgery and for your particular situation. Improving your upper body strength, for instance , makes it easier for you to use a walker or crutches during recovery.

5.Get rid of bad habits –If you smoke, attempt to quit or a minimum of hamper beforehand. Smoking will inhibit the healing and recovery process. If you're a touch bit overweight, attempt to lose a couple of pounds if possible.

The Most Common Sports Injuries:
Shoulder Injury that involve overhead movement. They are generally due to overuse and causes pain, stiffness and slipping.
They can be treated with range of motion exercises and physical therapy followed by rehabilitative exercises.

Lower Back Strain which happens usually from awkward twisting, lifting heavy weight or doing unpracticed sports. It can be treated with stretching, orthotic lifts, etc.

Neck Strain usually occurs in one side of the neck. The muscles may tighten up and stiffen after a long period in an awkward position. It can be treated with gentle stretch from side to side or in semi circular motions.

Twisted Ankle happens when the foot turns inward and might tear the ligament on the outside of the ankle. This happens mostly during jumping, running and turning quickly. It can be treated with balance training or ankle braces.

Tennis Elbow is an inflammation of the muscle and tendons of the forearm. It happens due to repetitive movements while playing sport like tennis, badminton. It needs physiotherapy and might need prolonged break from the sport.

Runners Knee occurs due to overuse which results in swelling and pain in the knee. But it can be treated with soft tissue massage, rest between workouts, cross training, warm up and cool down exercises and application of ice pack for 20 minutes after activity.

Shin splint is another sports injury that happens due to jumping, running on hard surfaces which causes pain in the muscle near or around shin bones.
It can be treated with applying ice, stretching and anti- inflammatory medications.

Arthritis is a general term to describe inflammation of the joints. However, there are different types of arthritis, including osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

🔶️Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease (which means your body attacks itself), a result of the immune system attacking the tissues that line the body’s joints. This causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints and the pain is often symmetrical(on both sides). It is more common in women and in those who are middle aged, but it can happen to anyone.

🔶️Osteoarthritis happens over time. It is the most common form of arthritis, and it usually occurs in older people. The protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wear down as you age, making it difficult to move. It usually affects one side of the body. Osteoarthritis can damage any joint in your body, though it most commonly affects joints in your hands, knees, hips, and spine.
