Implant Supported Hybrid Denture

Those days are gone, when patients get frustrated with loose fitting troublesome dentures!!

Implants supported denture is relatively advance treatment option for those patients who want to enjoy their food as they used to, when they had their firm natural teeth.

It differs from normal denture in many ways such as lesser coverage of gums and surrounding area by the denture which increases patient’s acceptance, high chewing efficiency reaching close to patient’s natural teeth etc.

It involves placement of multiple implants in both upper and lower jaws at strategic positions. Denture obtains its support from these anchored implants within the bone.

OVERDENTURE –
Sometimes when patient comes with few remaining teeth in mouth, we can plan this treatment option. You can say this treatment choice is a mid way between normal denture and advanced implant supported dentures. Generally, a conventional denture has 1/6th of chewing efficiency as compared to natural teeth. By using remaining teeth in treatment plan we can increase the chewing efficiency to double of the conventional dentures. It uses specific teeth in mouth, as support pillars for receiving attachments which we can fix it, into the dentures. (as shown in picture.)

Because of wear and tear in oral tissues, the teeth get attrited and mutilated. Those patients who have habit of night grinding of teeth, in patients who have habit of to***co chewing for years or patients with imbalance in their bite of upper and lower jaw develops wearing of teeth at middle ages of life.
Dentists can rehabilitate the condition by diagnosing and evaluating the patient.
This procedure is different than routine treatment of fixing the missing small no. of teeth as it involves complete rejuvenation of patients bite.
