Two recent news on youngsters su***de.
One common thing - Parents statement that "Mera Bachha Su***de Nahi Kar Sakta!"

This is a very common statement spoken by parents of youngsters who commit su***de.

Even when we psychiatrists come across a patient with high risk for su***de and disclose to the family members, the threat is always sushhed away as if it's a problem if a different planet.

With all due respect to the departed souls who left the world due to su***de, jo bacha su***de karte hai, unke seengh nahi uge hote. Who aap hum jaise saral Gharon se saral log hi hote hai.

Time to break the stigma and contemporary thinking, time to break the denial!

Well done Sameera Reddy!

We have all known Sameera Reddy as a Bubbly and "Happy-go-lucky" girl next door. But when depression hits, it hits really hard.

Around 30-75 percent of mother experience some sort of sadness known as "Post Partum Blues" and around 15 percent of mothers experience a full fledged Depression. It's troublesome and distressing.

Sameera was no exception. But what puts are apart is the acceptance of her change in mood as depression and seeking proper help and the right time.

Don't ever hesitate to seek help!

When Media stands wrong!

Media often tends to sensationalize the news and they felt su***de was no exception. But it forgot that there are some guidelines to report su***de in news.

1. DO NOT Place stories about su***de prominently and unduly repeat such stories

2. DO NOT Use language which sensationalizes or normalizes su***de or presents it as a constructive solution to problems

3. DO NOT Explicitly describe the method used

4. DO NOT Provide details about the site/location

5.DO NOT Use sensational headlines

6. DO NOT Use photographs, video footage, or social media links.
