1. Eye injuries-
-Do not try to aggressively touch or rub the injured eye.
-Try to cover the injured eyes with a clean cloth.
- seek for medical help
2.Minor burns:-
- Hold the burnt area under cold running water for at least
five minutes or until the pain or burning sensation
subsides. Remember, the water should not be “too cold”.
-Avoid using ice on the burn.
-Cover the burnt area with a sterile gauze bandage.
-Apply a medicated ointment or aloe vera on the injury.
-Don’t use ghee, oil, butter or tomato etc. on the burn as it
increases the risk of infection.
-Don’t break blisters, it may cause infection.
- If there is majore burn,take the injured child to the hospital once you have administered first-aid.

1. Prepare yourself for the Diwali – need to be careful from few days in advance, right from the morning of Diwali You can replace your usual breakfast with food items that have minimum calories so that you can have space for more calories in the evening .
2. Cut calories at Work – Avoid drinking too much tea/ coffee at work.
3. Workout – Make up your mind to add some time to your workout schedule before and after Diwali. This will help you shred some of the additional weight and also prepare your body not to absorb fat through sweets and other rich food items.
4. Alcoholic Drinks- This will not only save you from a lot of extra calories but also help you enjoy the festival properly.
5. Try to opt for food items that are rich in fiber.
6. Take Small Portions – This becomes very important when you have to visit friends and relatives the Diwali night. Eating less will help you eat sweets and food items from different friends.
7. Choose Low Calorie Sweets.
8. Dinner – Pay attention to what you take at dinner. Since this is at your home you can either take low calorie food items, no carb diet or simply drink a glass of buttermilk and skip dinner
9. Drink plenty of water- Drinking lots of water not just helps in preventing dehydration during the festival season but it also helps clean up the system and makes one full, thus preventing intake of excess food and sweets.
10. Nuts alternative of sweets - eat a handful of dried fruits to avoid all the fat and sugar and reduce your calorie intake.

PREVENTION-
1.Unwashed or improperly washed hands and surfaces can quickly spread germs and cause foodborne illness.
2.Improper handling of food, kitchen tools and surfaces can cause microorganisms to transfer from raw to cooked food. Cross-contamination during preparation, grilling, and serving food is a prime cause of foodborne illness.
3. Cook: Proper temperatures prevent foodborne illness
4. If you don’t plan to eat take-out food within two hours of purchase, plan ahead and chill the food in your refrigerator before packing for your outing.
