e is planning, executing and monitoring the regional health problems of the tribal, in and around central India. Training is being imparted to local expertise for communicable diseases. the thrust areas of research are communicable diseases and Heamogobinopathies. The centre is attempting simultaneously to estimate the magnitude of health problemsposed by common diseases such as Tuberculosis, Malaria, Filariasis, Veneral Diseases etc. further, the centre also studies the abnormal hemoglobin and other genetic health problems of tribal of central India. Socio-economic, Demographic and Cultural profile of the tribal population gives an insight about how they play an important role in complicating and enhancing the magnitude of the problem.
