We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of the region's First Radiosurgery Services for the treatment of brain, spine, and prostate tumors! 🎉
Later we will expand to other moving tumours like lung, liver, kidney etc.

CyberKnife is a cutting-edge, non-invasive radiosurgery system that delivers precise radiation directly to tumors, offering patients a revolutionary treatment option with minimal side effects and no need for incisions. This advanced technology is transforming the way we approach treatment (from benign to malignant, localised to metastatic) making it a game-changer for our oncology community.

With this new service, we are committed to providing the highest level of care and improving outcomes for patients facing complex conditions. 🌟

Thank you to my dedicated team of doctors, physicists and technologists for making this milestone possible. A special thanks to for all the support given during the commissioning.
Together, we are bringing world-class medical care closer to home. 🙏

Newer indications of radiotherapy are adding more years to life.

The world’s largest clinical trial using radiotherapy to treat advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has opened at The Christie.

The study aims to recruit nearly 1,000 patients newly diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

The aim is to understand how effective advanced radiotherapy techniques are in treating advanced NSCLC.

Dr David Woolf, consultant oncologist at The Christie, explained: “Most people with stage IV NSCLC are eligible for this trial so it’s very inclusive. This is the first time we have delivered a trial in radiotherapy for this group of patients in 20 years so it’s a big deal.

"Techniques have advanced to such an extent in this time that we believe that radiotherapy can bring additional benefit to patients undergoing their standard treatments. This study aims to provide enough evidence to change clinical practice globally and could help up to a million people a year worldwide.”

There is so much more we still do not know about Covid...

With the onset of the third wave of COVID 19 in India and around the world, the pertinent question that strikes me is, “Why do some people not get Covid-19 yet others keep getting infected, one wave after the other?” Some got infected in the first wave with the alpha variant and now with Omicron...

Something we should all be aware of... Mindfulness !!

You can start practicing mindfulness today. It is a skill you can learn.

Mindfulness does not always mean you have to meditate or take out loads of time in a day. It can be as simple as focusing on your breathing a few minutes in the morning. In an age where multitasking is the norm, focus on doing one thing at a time and do it well. Enjoy your meals, leave the phone aside for a few minutes. Connect to your mind and know what is it that you really want.

Try them for a week and see what a difference it makes.

This can go a long way in reducing cancer mortality and we may soon see food items fortified with Vit D available on our kirana store shelves.

Growing evidence from three meta-analyses and a large prospective trial suggests that vitamin D significantly reduces cancer mortality.
