🔶POST FRACTURE REHABILITATION 🔶

The goals of fracture treatment include:
1.Restore alignments
2.Promoting bone healing and return to normal function as soon as possible to prevent stiffness and wasting of muscles.

🔸What does fracture rehabilitation (physiotherapy) include?

Physiotherapy should start immediately after the fracture has been immobilized.

🔸Physiotherapy during fracture healing will concentrate on :

▶️Encouraging weight bearing
▶️Maintaining strength of weakend muscles
⏩Maintaining range of movement of the affected and surrounding joints
⏩Reducing pain
⏩Reducing swelling

🔸After your fracture has healed and/or your cast has been removed, physiotherapy is continued for 3 to 12 months or until you have regained your full level of function.

🔸The aims of physiotherapy are to:

⏩Progress weight bearing activities
⏩Return to full function
⏩Return strength and full range of movement of joint and muscles
⏩Focus on sport specific rehabilitation.
⏩Optimise the range of movement at affected joint.

🔸What is scoliosis?🔸

▶️Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that most often is diagnosed in adolescent.

⏩Scoliosis causes symptoms such as un-even shoulders and/or hips and bump in the lower back, numbness weakness or pain in the legs.

▶️The two general categories are structural and non structural.

⏩Non structural scoliosis results from a temporary cause and involves side to side curves whereas structural scoliosis involves a rotation as well as a side curve.

▶️It's important to take care of your mobility and breathing patterns to be able to improve.

⏩There are some exercises which you should find useful.

🔹Exercises such as the child pose with a twist can be performed to strengthen the concave side
🔹Exercises such as Superman or modified dead bug helps strengthen the lower back and core which helps to support the spine.
