Astrological Reasons For Depression-
Depression is a very common problem now a days.

Actually, it is a state of mind in which the person does not feel happy or well and sometimes people have depression without any reason. Some people have all the happiness in life, yet they suffer from depression.

Sometimes it is because of failures in life, troubled by career, love.
The severity of depression is due to the position of the planets and stars in the horoscope.
The cause of depression is due to the damaged state of mind.
In astrology, the Moon is represented by the mind. The Moon is the receiver of everything that is good and bad. We all feel happy when good things happen in life, but we feel bad and depressed when no good things happen in life.
Mental illness/depression occurs due to the conjunction of Moon with harsh and cruel planets.
Moon with Saturn, Rahu and Ketu can give depression. Weak Moon, Mercury and Jupiter can give depression.
Moon if placed with Shani (Yuti), makes a person slow. Saturn is fear and limitation. It brings laziness. Moon is peace of mind and it seeks happiness. The conjunction of Saturn and Moon creates a depressant by putting extra burden and responsibility and feeling of heaviness on the emotional side.

Another reason for depression is when Moon is along with Ketu (coincidence). Ketu is the South Node of the Moon, this is our subconscious thinking. Ketu is the headless body which forces us to think what is beyond this world, it represents spirituality, emptiness and is not interested in the material world.

When Moon conjuncts with planets in 6th, 8th, and 12th house, it makes a person related to depression as Moon is not happy in these houses.
If Moon is situated in Ta**us, where the mind is stable, then it may not give problem but if debilitated and sitting with Saturn then Rahu and Ketu can give depression.
In some Nakshatras, Moon is not comfortable, like ashlesha Nakshatra which falls in the Moon's own Cancer sign, but it is an emotionally disturbed Nakshatra.

In today's competitive era its hard to get smooth and stable professional life. In many cases we see that a person having years of stable career suddenly starts facing troubles and downfall in his profession, even when he put more efforts than before. Nobody knows when one may come down from top or gains a sudden rise.

In Vedic Astrology There are some important factors to consider for major disappointments in professional life of a native -
The tenth house in a birthchart and it's lord are important pillars for giving direction to the career line and stability in that, it shows your position in the society or social status you hold. Any association of the 10th lord or house with the lord of 8th or 12th houses causes ups & downs in one's career.

Shani is the karaka-significator of service/career, retrograde shani usually cause unstable job if not influenced by benefics.
Weak moon and weak lagna gives troubles in making decisions, it also leads towards frequent changes in working place.
Rahu and ketu are the planets which give sudden events, if they are associated with your 10th house or lords, then sudden desire to change a job may occur.
Weak 10th lord or antardasha of weak/afflicted planets can also bring sudden fall in career.

It is difficult to change the destiny but not impossible, destiny is a very big force. Can Remedies change the destiny ?
A person is free to make efforts and to perform good or bad deeds, if one follow the path of truth and dharma he shall definitely succeed in expiating his bad karmas, And gathering lots of good karma for him.
A guru or yogi can only give deeksha to his disciple to make him successful in his learnings or will show him the right path, but the disciple also has to do the right suggested karmas to get success.
Chanting mantras and prayers help one to control the thought process, the negative thoughts get destroyed with the power of dhyana and your inner power develops.
So the important thing is efforts, and efforts here are karma, therefore we can say that karma is as important as the destiny. And, performing remedy is also a Karma.
Everybody has the potential to do such karmas to change their life and bring peace and harmony.

Marriage & Seventh House In Vedic Astrology

In vedic astrology mainly we see 7th house of a birthchart for relationship and marital aspects, since any relationship is based on emotional bond, which shows watery element. So, the involvement of the planet which are dominated by fiery elements such mainly as Mars and Sun mostly cause troubles in the marital life or in any long termed intimate relationship.

The root cause we can say that the 7th house is just opposite to the lagna(ascendant) itself, so the elements of a fiery planet effects the native himself too, by its aspects on the ascendant from the 7th, and then the both partners tries to dominate each other or certain quarrels or disputes take place due to the dominance of agni tattva (fiery element) in both partners.

The placement of planets in seventh house are vital in determining the marital bliss or partners etc from lagna chart(D1) and as well as from navamsa chart (D9) also.

Placement of watery planets such as moon and Venus makes the native emotional regarding relationships with the opposite s*x and they can be more passionate and like to have company with many partners (if this planet gets affliction, then one can go beyond the society norms for physical unionship).

[ There was once an elephant named Gajendra who lived in a lovely garden located on Mount Trikuta, the "Three-Peaked Mountain," in ancient India. Gajendra ruled over all the other elephants in the herd.

On a hot day, Gajendra proceeded with his herd to a lake to cool off in its fresh waters. Suddenly a makara, which is a sort of crocodile, attacked Gajendra and caught him by the leg. Gajendra tried for a long time to escape from the crocodile's clutches. All his family, relatives and friends gathered around to help him, but in vain. The crocodile simply wouldn't let go.

When they concluded that it was Gajendra's time to die, the other elephants left him alone. Gajendra trumpeted in pain and helplessness until he was hoarse. The struggle seemed to go on forever (some people say that the crocodile held Gajendra's foot for over a thousand of years!), and when Gajendra had finally expended all his strength, he called to the god Vishnu to save him, holding a lotus up in the air as an offering.

"Lord Vishnu," said Gajendra, "I call out to you, and I seek shelter at your feet! You are the witness in every heart, and you enlighten every soul. I am in danger; please protect me! You are the Supersoul, the Supreme Person, the cause of everything, but you yourself have no cause. Through the shadows of the material world, we glimpse your being; you are the fire that is hidden in the arani wood. I have no desire to live after being released from this crocodile; I desire only to be liberated from ignorance. You are the master of mystic yoga, and I surrender myself unto you!"

Hearing his devotee's call, Lord Vishnu rushed to the scene. As Gajendra sighted the Lord coming, he lifted the lotus even higher with his trunk. Pleased by this sight, Vishnu used his sacred discus, the Sudharshana Chakra, to separate the crocodile's head from its body. Gajendra then prostrated himself before Vishnu in reverent gratitude ].

For siddhi of this stotra or mantra, It should be started on any auspicious tithis e.g - Navratra or any other subha muhurata and continued for 9 or 11 Days regularly.

Procedure - Take a picture frame or idol of Gajendra Moksha Avatar of lord vishnu, Early morning after taking bath sit on a woolen or kusha mat and do shodasopachara or panchopchara poojan, then start with sri ganesh dhyanam or sri ganesh mantra-

Om vakratunda mahakaya suryakoti samaprabha
Nirvighnam kuru m deva sarva karyeshu sarvada ||

Thereafter should do dhyanam of lord Vishnu by following stotra --

Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam Padmanabham Suresham
Vishvadharam Gaganasadrisham Meghavarnam Shubhangam ।
Lakshmikantam K**alanayanam Yogibhirdhyanagamyam
Vande Vishnum Bhavabhayaharam Sarvalokaikanatham ॥

One should add doing 108 japa of Sri Vishnu dwadasksri mantra also --

"Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya"

Then one should do recitation of Gajendra Moksha stotram, and after completing of certain desired numbers it's even much better to perform homam and feed brahmins for proper completion and good results.

I am avoiding here to post the stotra as it will make this post much longer and also it is easily available on internet.

It is not a superstition, but something that can severely affect anyone, most of the time we end up ignoring it, but after some times we realize that there is indeed something that disturbs and we are unable to find out what and why ?
