A New Chapter in Cardiac Care — Rajasthan’s First Successful Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR)

I'm humbled to share a landmark moment in my medical journey — the first-ever successful TTVR surgery in Rajasthan, performed on a high-risk cardiac patient without the need for open-heart surgery.

The patient had already undergone two open-heart surgeries in the past and was considered inoperable by conventional standards. Through a catheter-based, minimally invasive approach, we were able to offer a safer alternative — and a new lease on life.

I treated a 57-year-old man with a failing heart valve. He had two open-heart surgeries before. Another surgery was too risky for him.

We chose TTVR. This method uses a small tube through blood vessels. No major surgery. No long recovery.

As a cardiologist and TAVI expert, I’ve performed many procedures. This one felt special. Seeing this patient walk out of the hospital in days was incredible.

The media buzz has been huge. Over 300 platforms covered this story. What matters most is the hope we can offer patients in Rajasthan and India.

Every tough case teaches me something new. This one reminded me why I love being a doctor. I find solutions when regular treatments fail.

57 वर्षीय हाई-रिस्क मरीज, जिनकी पहले दो बार ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी हो चुकी थी — उन्हें बिना चीरफाड़ के इलाज देना एक बेहद अहम उपलब्धि रही।

2014 में श्री जसबीर सिंह नंदा जी की हार्ट सर्जरी हुई थी, जो काफी तकलीफ़देह रही।

इस बार दोबारा सर्जरी की ज़रूरत पड़ी — लेकिन Eternal Hospital में हमने उनकी TMVR प्रक्रिया (26 mm Edwards Sapien 3) सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की।

अब वे बिना किसी परेशानी के ठीक हो चुके हैं और पहले से बेहतर महसूस कर रहे हैं।
