A highly distressed and anxious patient walked into my clinic, complaining of swelling beneath the eye. Upon examination, I observed a four-unit bridge starting from the canine to molar . To investigate further, I took an essential X-ray, which revealed severe bone loss and pus accumulation around the root tip of the canine.
I’m sharing this case to highlight an important lesson: never ignore even subtle signs of discomfort in a tooth before placing a crown. Rushed decisions—whether by the patient or the treating dentist—can lead to serious complications like this one.
