5 year old male child with intermittent urinary symptoms. No documented UTI and no hydronephrosis on USG. Micturating cystourethrogram done was suggestive of grade 3 reflux. This can lead to kidney damage and chronic scarring. Any child with urinary symptoms should be evaluated for reflux and USG is the least reliable indicator for reflux.

Never take urinary symptoms (like burning during micturation, intermittent stream, recurrent urine infection) of your child lightly, they can be associated with a serious underlying cause...
