Next-in-line effect
People have trouble remembering what others said just before it's their turn to speak.
Think about playing a game where you take turns telling a story with your friends. It's your turn to add to the story, but just before you start, your friend says something really exciting in their part of the story. You get so excited about your turn that you forget what your friend just said! That's like the next-in-line effect because your turn made you forget what came just before it.
