Does anyone remember having chapati with juicy mango in his/her childhood(in haryana and UP villages it was common ). U can try it as one of the breakfast options

- ak badhiya paka(ripe) hua mango with garma garam moti gaddar roti greased properly with ghee. Gives you instant energy to kick start your morning.

Mango is a rich source of vitamin C, fibre and rich in anti oxidants.
And Please stop eating mango with chammach(spoon), destroys it's taste completely. If food is eaten slowly and enjoyed properly, it will nourish our body more properly.

Thank you 🙏🏻
Have a nice day 😊

Body's dosha cycle

Morning 6-10AM - Kapha in our body is at peak (kapha is heavy in nature ) so it's best time for physical activities.

10AM -2PM -Pitta in our body is at peak, time for heavy meal of the day... Digestive fire is activated.. Also we are full of energy to do our daily routine work.

2 PM to 6PM - vata(air) in our body is at peak, this time is best for mental activities..

6PM to 10PM -again kapha time - this time is also good for physical activities and one should go to bed before 10 PM before kapha time ends and pitta time starts. Even if not going to sleep at least be in bed and switch off the lights...

10PM to 2AM - again pitta time starts - while we are asleep, our body is working on digestion, preparing to clean up our body.

2AM -6AM - again Vatta time, best for mental activities, our brain works fast at this time. No doubt our elders used to ask us to wake up and study at this time. Also some people say ki Meri aankh khul gayi thi @2 or 2:30 or later and I couldn't go to sleep after that..

Thank you 🙏
Have a nice day

Yoga is not just about stretching and bending, yoga is a complete lifestyle. It has the power to heal both physically and mentally, and there is a lots of scope to transcend spiritually. One needs to have self discipline, proper dedication and faith to achieve the goal at any stage of yoga.

The simplest of the asanas or pranayama could be as effective as any of the advanced practice if done properly with patience and in continuity.

For example if one wants to bring yoga to his or her life, there are simplest practices to follow.

One of them is "Udgeet Pranayama " i.e OM Uccharana. Only by reciting OM with long deep inhales and exhales one could really benefit . It will not only soothes your nervous system but will also release all kind of stress. The only condition is that you will have to recite OM 20-30 times minimum at one sitting daily and you will feel the difference.

It is very beneficial for kids as well. If they are bored during their studies or exams it will not only cheer them up but also will fill them up with energy again.

Method :

Sit in any comfortable Asana such as sukhasana or Vajrasana .

Keep your back straight (it is very important to sit straight while practicing pranayama or meditation ). One could also take the support of a wall to keep one's back straight.

Now bring your hands in namashkar mudra or gyana mudra(tip of your forefinger should touch the tip of your thumb keeping other fingers straight ).

Make a resolution in mind and start with OM uccharana. For that inhale deeply and then exhale slowly and recite OM as long as you can. Continue for as long as you can.. Slowly increase the time.

Thank you 🙏

For the quick relief in cold(not for cough)

A combination of following will bring quick relief in cold..

Before going to bed at night or day time

First take steam then have garma garam besan ka halwa followed by (adrak+haldi+ilaichi+kali mirch Dana) milk. Remember to keep everything near you or someone else to help you, so that everything could be taken in series.

Moisturise your nose with badam oil either with finger or with dropper and then press both the nostrils to moisturize the nose thoroughly.

Switch off the fan/AC.

Cover yourself with chaddar from head to toe and go to sleep.

You may perspire, but do not switch on the fan and keep yourself covered as long as you can..

Next morning you will wake up relieved, don't forget to add almond oil to your nostrils again .

Avoid taking food and drink which is cold in nature for next 2-3 days...

Thank you 🙏🏻

Let's talk about controlling our tongue(pratyahara), I mean navratri is about to start. We have a kriya in yoga called Shankhprakshalana in which we clean our intestines by drinking water followed by some asanas which leads to cleaning our gut completely and then followed by khichadi as a diet for a week. It is recommended once in 6 months specially during season change as it is changing now. We could look at the navratri as a way of cleaning our body and giving a rest to our gut.
Resting our gut, why do we need it? It is said that we have jivana shakti in us which regulates our life. Now if our jivana shakti is always busy in digestive work ,our body doesn't get time to heal. There have been experiments where a lots of ailments have been cured with fasting. I am not just talking about 9 days fast. It could be 12-15 hrs fast from evening 8 pm to 10AM next morning followed by light meals throughout the day.
Those who are planning to go for navratri fasting, don't do it to eat throughout the day, do it properly and consciously followed by meditation and pranayama and let your body heal.

Thank you 🙏🏻
Have a nice day 😊

The phrase, “you are what you eat” is literally true. Nutrients from the foods you eat food provide the foundation of the structure, function, and integrity of every little cell in your body, from your skin and hair to your muscles, bones, digestive and immune systems. You may not feel it, but you’re constantly repairing, healing and rebuilding your body.
Every cell in your body has a “shelf life” – a stomach cell lives about a day or two, a skin cell about a month, and a red blood cell about four months. So each and every day, your body is busy making new cells to replace those that have “expired.” And how healthy those new cells are is directly determined by how well you’ve been eating. A diet filled with highly processed food that’s low on nutrients doesn’t give your body much to work with. It’s like constructing a house with cardboard and tape instead of bricks and mortar. But a clean, nutrient rich, whole foods eating plan can help you build cells that work better, and are less susceptible to premature aging and disease.

A Yogi must avoid the two extremes of luxury and austerity. He must not
fast, nor torture his flesh. He who does so, says the Gita, cannot be a Yogi:
He who fasts, he who keeps awake, he who sleeps much, he who works too
much, he who does no work, none of these can be a Yogi (Bhagavad-Gita, VI, 16).

Any steady posture which gives comfort to the body is Asana. One should select Asana according to one's capacity.Patanjali describes asana as “steady, comfortable, and relaxed” and states that the yogi should be able to hold the body in posture for a long period of time without feeling instability. This is the ultimate goal of asana practice but it doesn’t happen overnight and few of us get there without meeting some challenges along the way.
It requires us to accept exactly where we are before we slowly, through consistent and persistent practice, open to a deeper potential. If we push through injury or painful sensation we are acting violently towards ourselves, causing further damage to the physical structure and further disturbance to the mind. This is not Yoga.

Maha Bandha or the Great Lock combines all the three main Bandhas or locks practised by yogis – Moola Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha and Jalandhara Bandha.

Benefits of Maha Bandha (The Great Lock)
Maha Bandha gives the combined benefits of all the three basic bandhas – Moola bandha, Uddiyana bandha and Jalandhara bandha.
1. It also activates the three chakras – Mooladhara Chakra, Manipuraka Chakra and Vishuddhi Chakra.
2. It activates the pineal glands and therefore regulates the entire endocrinal glands.
3. It rejuvenates the cells in the entire body and hence helps as an anti-aging mechanism.
4. During initial stages there is discomfort to retain the breath. But with practice, breath can be retained for long durations. When the lock is released, there is a general sense of well-being and bliss. The mind calms down and there is experience of a peaceful state. It removes the afflictions of the mind like anger.
5. Maha Bandha is practiced by yogis to attain a peaceful and introverted state of mind before starting the practice of meditation.

Maha Bandha should not be practiced by those suffering from blood pressure problems, heart diseases, ulcer of stomach or intestine, stroke, paralysis and hernia. Also pregnant women should avoid this practice. Maha Bandha should be practiced under the guidance of an experienced yoga instructor after you have mastered the three basic locks.
