Knocked knees (also known as genu valgum) are a knee alignment issue where the knees fall in towards the midline.

While there may be several different factors that can influence knocked knees such as bone disease and muscle imbalances. When working with shoulder pain or dysfunction, we'd like to seem at the scapula and the way it’s functioning. During 180 degrees of shoulder elevation, the motion comes from the shoulder (120 degrees) and scapular motion (60 degrees) (2:1 ratio). REPOST: Hi everyone, today’s post is on anterior knee pain. This is largely considered as an umbrella term for patella based pathologies. This is most commonly due to misalignment (tilting and/or subluxation). This causes pain by the patella not sitting correctly in its groove.

💥Hip flexor pain💥

Hi everyone, today’s post is focusing on those that experience tight hip flexors after running or running based sports. This can cause pain across your hip as a result of excessive hip flexion due to lack of activation of the glutes during the reload of the leg (backward motion whilst running). -

These exercises work on releasing the hip flexors and strengthening the gluteal muscles to allow for sufficient activation whilst running to subsequently offload the anterior musculature. -

💥 Lateral Knee Pain 💥

Hi everyone, today’s post is on the pain that is experienced in the lateral portions of the knee when performing high impact activities (such as running).

🧠This gradual onset of pain can be caused by multiple pathologies although is very common to be seen as ITBS (iliotibial band syndrome). This an overuse injury that involves overuse of the connective tissue on the outside of the thigh. Therefore this causes tight lateral structures that compensate for strength deficits in the medial areas of the quad and gluteals.

🔎The research looks at improving glute strength and single-leg stability to relate the rehabilitation approach to the activity being performed. This allows an easier transfer when returning to regular running frequencies.
