It was almost a year back that I came across this critical data,
"Ever year nearly 77,000 women die due to cervical cancer , in India". It shook me and I began to deep dive into this topic.
At first, i discovered that cervical cancer is highly treatable and preventable. Moreover, it takes over 5 to 10 years to progress. But, its mostly diagnosed at late stages wherein its no more treatable leading to death.
Secondly, there are no symptoms during early stages, therefore WHO set the target to screen 70% of women by 2030, aiming to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030.
But the current testing methods have limitations such as high false negatives, low sensitivity, are time taking (3 to 5 days), require a team of gynaecologist, technicians, pathologists which is challenging in remote areas.
I began my research on various testing methods available , when i found a solution of cervical cancer screening system based on AI.
Cervicare AI is a camera ( SONY Starvis Image Sensor 48 MP 3840*2160 (4K)) that captures the image of cervix, runs AI analysis (70 lakh records over 28 years)and produces results in 5 seconds. The results are comparable to current testing methods ,offering sensitivity of 98%.
We finally brought CerviCARE AI in India last month and receiving great feedbacks on same. This is so close to my heart as it can potentially save lives of women.
Our team is working each day with an aim to eliminate cervical cancer.
