‼️Chief Complaint:
A female patient reported to our clinic with the chief complaint of inability to chew food and difficulty in eating due to complete loss of teeth.
History of Present Illness:
The patient was completely edentulous and expressed functional as well as psychological discomfort related to the absence of teeth. She reported compromised mastication, altered speech, and reduced confidence in daily social interactions.
Clinical Examination:
Intraoral examination revealed a completely edentulous maxillary and mandibular arch. The residual ridges were examined for form, height, and soft tissue condition. No active pathology was noted.
Radiographic Evaluation:
Comprehensive radiographic assessment was carried out using diagnostic scans to evaluate bone quality, bone volume, anatomical landmarks, and to aid in implant planning. Based on the evaluation, the patient was deemed suitable for implant-supported fixed prosthetic rehabilitation.
Treatment Plan:
After discussing various treatment options, an implant-supported fixed full-arch rehabilitation was planned and consented to by the patient. A staged approach was decided, beginning with the mandibular arch.
Treatment Progress:
In the first surgical visit, six dental implants were placed in the mandibular arch following standard surgical protocols under strict aseptic conditions. Primary stability of all implants was achieved. Post-operative instructions and medications were prescribed.
Future Treatment Plan:
In subsequent visits, six implants will be placed in the maxillary arch following adequate healing and evaluation. After a healing period of a few months to allow for osseointegration, implant-supported fixed prostheses will be fabricated and delivered for both arches.
Current Status:
The patient is currently under follow-up and healing satisfactorily. Further stages of treatment will be carried out as planned to restore optimal function, esthetics, and patient comfort.
