It’s been immense pleasure to announce you that PUNJAB MEDICAL INSTITUTE OF NURSING & HOSPITAL is completing its 31 years .

A brief Profile

Punjab Medical Institute of Nursing & Hospital was established in 1987 under MAK Welfare Trust (PMIN Trust) & running at GT Road, Suranussi, Jalandhar, in approx 3 acres of land, in-built campus & Hospital. This is run by the Ex-Army Officers - Capt. G.B.S Madan, Director & Capt. Mrs. P. Madan the Nursing Director & Super Specialties doctors .

Main Motto of this institute is to promote Girl & her Education for their self independence. Keeping this in mind, this Trust is giving Nursing training to the girls to become Nurses on behalf of the state & central government. Approximately 5500 well Trained Nurses had been passed out from this Institute since 1989 and working in small, big Private & Government Hospitals & even working world wide. Even some of the Nurses had opened their nursing homes.

This is the only Institute in Punjab state which also gives admissions & priority to Handicapped / polio affected girls with scholarships & concessions in their fees. In this Institute scholarships are given every year to those intelligent girls, whose parents cannot afford to give training/ course fees. Every year Institute gives concessions in Admission fees as well as in monthly fees so that parents don’t feel burden to pay huge fees. This year only had given approx Rs-18 lacs scholarships to old & new students.

PMINH is conducting and providing free professional education to the needy & poor ones and all. Various courses like OT, Laboratory, optometry, Dentistry, X-Ray are offered to all students free of cost .approximately 340 students got the benfits of this free education. Well elaborated course plan is provided and taught to the students by trained teachers. The students are also placed in various clinical areas for their training without any fee & also More than 40% passed candidates have been placed on the jobs without any difficulty

The Vision and Mission

As always, The Institute of Nursing is committed to excellence is nursing education, Clinical practice, nursing research and community service. This year apart from educating our Nurses, The Institute created number of programs & faculty to improve the health and health care of the community. These programmes prepared for the general public & their awareness of different health aspects. The Institute strives for excellence in accomplishing its mission through co-operative governance and ongoing evaluation. Students and facility will collaborate in the discovery, integration, application and dissemination of knowledge in Nursing. The Institute of Nursing will be a resource for knowledge for all the community for their primary health care. Due to awareness in community, that will improves the quality of living & reduces the diseases. This vision will be accomplished in an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment that is diversity and that fosters individual and collective purists.

The Institute is subjected to periodical inspection by the different accrediting bodes in the state and national level. The latest inspections are by:

· Govt. Of Punjab.

· Punjab Nurses Registration Council.

· Punjab State Skill Development Society.

· NSDC-Healthcare Sector Skill Council.

Curriculum Competencies

Admissions: Our Sanctioned intake at present for GNM is 60 & ANM is 35

Infrastructure: Institute has the state of the art facilities with adequate class rooms, fully equipped laboratories to learn and practice. Faculties enable the students to attain the desired learning out-come before their postings in the clinical area considering the complexities of the procedures.

Faculty Positions: Both full time and part time faculties are selected with care and inducted as per the norms prescribed by Respective Councils

Library: The Institute has excellent library with medical journals, Books, Magazines and so on & having 6665 books in our library.

Curriculum: Curriculum is aimed to prepare well skilled & qualified Nurses to serve Society.
