After being Awarded MCh Degree in Neurosurgery from the prestigious department of neurosurgery at All India Institute of medical sciences, New Delhi from 1996 to 1999 under legendary professors of neurosurgery like Professor VS Mehta Professor AK Mahapatra Dr VP Singh, Dr Sandeep Vaish Dr SS Kale.
I started my Neurosurgical career.
In the last 25 years of my independent practice as a senior consultant neurosurgeon, I have seen thousands of people with slipped Disc disease.. they have come from all brackets of life… Housewives,college students,Sportsmen, 9 to 5 office goers,CA, businessman, doctors, ex-servicemen.
And most of them had shooting pain in the leg, traditionally called Sciatica which would get aggravated on walking..
The decision whether to operate or not has always been very clearcut and for a seasoned neurosurgeon two things matter the most…
The amount of Disc material lying either in the spinal or impinging upon the Foramen causing root Compression
