मधुमेह म्हणजे काय?

मधुमेह हा एक दीर्घकालीन आजार आहे ज्यामध्ये शरीर रक्तातील साखरेचे (ग्लुकोज) योग्य नियंत्रण करू शकत नाही. उच्च रक्तशर्करा दीर्घकाळासाठी टिकल्यास शरीराच्या अनेक अवयवांवर परिणाम होतो, ज्यामुळे गंभीर गुंतागुंत होऊ शकते.

मधुमेहामुळे होणाऱ्या मुख्य गुंतागुंती

1. हृदय व रक्तवाहिन्यांचे आजार (Cardiovascular Diseases):
• हृदयविकाराचा झटका आणि स्ट्रोक होण्याचा धोका वाढतो.
• रक्तवाहिन्यांमध्ये अडथळा निर्माण होऊन रक्तप्रवाह कमी होतो.
2. किडनीचे आजार (Diabetic Nephropathy):
• उच्च रक्तशर्करामुळे किडनीचे कार्य हळूहळू कमी होते.

• वेळेत काळजी न घेतल्यास पाय कापण्याची (Amputation) वेळ येऊ शकते.
6. त्वचेचे व तोंडाचे आजार:
• त्वचेवर संसर्ग होणे, खाज सुटणे किंवा जखमा होणे.
• तोंडात संसर्ग, हिरड्यांमध्ये सूज येणे.

गुंतागुंत टाळण्यासाठी टिप्स

1. रक्तशर्करेवर नियंत्रण ठेवा:
• नियमितपणे रक्तशर्करेची तपासणी करा आणि ती डॉक्टरांनी सांगितलेल्या प्रमाणात ठेवा.
2. नियमित वैद्यकीय तपासणी:
• किडनी, डोळे आणि पाय यांची नियमित तपासणी करणे आवश्यक आहे.
3. संतुलित आहार घ्या:
• फायबरयुक्त पदार्थ, फळे, भाज्या आणि प्रथिनयुक्त आहार घ्या.
• साखरेचे आणि तुपकट पदार्थांचे सेवन टाळा.
4. नियमित व्यायाम:
• दररोज किमान ३० मिनिटे चालणे किंवा हलका व्यायाम करा.
5. धूम्रपान आणि मद्यपान टाळा:
