‘PBMA’s Kantai Netralaya’, Jalgaon came into being when two noble organizations joined hands for a social cause. Padmashree Late Dr. Bhavarlalji Jain, Founder of Jain Irrigation Group and a well-known visionary and philanthropist gracefully extended his support to PBMA’s noble cause. PBMA’s dedicated service in the field of Eye-care received a strong boost, when a state-of-the-art specialty hospital was setup in Jalgaon in one of the complexes of the Jain Irrigation Group with active contribution of the Bhavarlal & Kantabai Jain Multipurpose Foundation. The Jalgaon facility was inaugurated on the January 19, 2016, at the auspicious hands of Padmashree Susheel Munshi. One can say that in-spite of age and health, it was only Late Bhavarlalji’s strong conviction and desire that the Jalgaon facility came up so quickly. It was his last project so as to say, as he passed away for heavenly abode on February 25, 2016. He had long desired to have social welfare project to commemorate the memory of his wife Late. Kantabai Jain via the Jain Multi-purpose Foundation, he has setup as a social commitment. His life came to a full circle as the Jalgaon facility was setup in the very premises where Late Bhavarlalji started his journey and laid the foundation of the Jain Irrigation Group.
“Kantai Netralaya” is fortunate to have Dr. Bhavana Jain as our Medical Director, she is an M.S. (Ophthalmology), M.B.B.S and F.R.V.S. Dr. Bhavana actively contributes in the activities of the Jain Multi-purpose Foundation and along-with her apt Professional Qualification, she also brings to “Kantai Netralaya”, her strong dedication and passion to serve the needy. Team of doctors include Dr. Praful Dhake, M.B.B.S; DOMS, D.N.B. Consultant/Phacosurgeon Dr.Anshu Oswal, M.B.B.S., Dr. Alvin Rane, M.S. (Netra-Ayu), Mr. Amarnath Chaudhari (Hospital Administrator)
Our Jalgaon facility, consistent with PBMA’s vision and mission, aims at providing comprehensive quality eye care without discrimination, between free and paid cases. They conduct regular “Outreach Programs” and camps in nearby rural areas to provide awareness and free eye treatments to poor & needy. About PBMA:
PBMA'S first hospital, H. Desai Eye Hospital, Pune was set up in 2000 and is a well-known name for all prevention of blindness activities as well as vital research in eye care under one roof. Today, PBMA runs 3 hospitals in Pune, Nandurbar and Jalgaon supported by couple of Vision Centres which support basic services and camps. PBMA's activities are supported by well-known stalwarts from different fields. Nitin Desai, well-known Industrialist chairs our foundation and is a strong patron. Padmashree N.P. Pandya, President PBMA, though himself vision impaird, he is a visionary, exemplary resource mobilizer and the strength behind this foundation. Col. (Retd) Dr. Madan Deshpande well known teacher and clinician, is the backbone and the chief medical director of this institute. Other people involved with the cause are Mr. Parvez Billimoriya and Mr. Kishorbhai Vora.
